    MMATS 2100.2

Even tho its not audible I dislike company's who rate there amps like that. Not a mmats fan personally but just goes to show homework should be done before purchasing an amp.
  3. What a name for an amp....

    Quick question

You gotta give more info than that. How in the hell is anyone going to be able to tell you anything. What vehicle? What kinda power? What do you want to accomplish? Give some details if you want a useful answer

    FS: DC Power XP250

I have a 250amp xp series DC Power alternator for sale. It has never been used. Invoice shows I ordered this feb, of last year. Planned to use it in my Malibu but money's tight and I'm not going so extreme with the Malibu after all. It was ordered to fit my 2011 Malibu V6. DC's website says it also fits a few other vehicles: DC quoted me $130+shipping to send it in and have it re cased to fit a different vehicle. But that's not something I want to do right now. I'm looking to ship it off for $500. Paid $652 I'm not necessarily looking for trades but who knows. Any questions please ask

    FS: DC Power XP250

Invoice date is 2/8/12. I believe this has a 2yr warranty. Not 100% on how that transfers over if sold. Kills me to sale it.

    Need help troubleshooting

Removed everything and reinstalled different subs. Charged battery after noticing low voltage, just hope the battery isn't on it's way out. Completely disconnected rear rcas and speaker wires. Problem seems to be solved. I ran it hard for about 10 minutes and everything is working as it should. I may of had the rcas mixed up and I know battery voltage was low. I checked all fuses front to back and everything was good. Thanks to everyone who offered advice I truly appreciate it.

    Need help troubleshooting

I'm not sure if the noise happens when the cars off. As of right now it's all unhooked and removed from the vehicle (subs and amps) I'm taking this Treo out and putting the 2 sa12s back in. One thing I noticed while unhooking it, I may have had the RCAs mixed up at the 4ch amp. I bought the knu rcas that are twisted together. It's a 4ch pair and it has 4 colors. Red black blue and white. I may of not had those right. I assume red and black are 1 set. But I didn't hook up the deck to see if the shop used them that way. Working on it now ill check back

That's a possibility I suppose. I bought this amp used maybe 2 years or more ago. One day it popped the internal fuses, I replaced them and never noticed anything again. I have a brand new crescendo bc2000 here I can swap it with but not until I sort out why my highs are acting up.

That is called shitty output filtering. When you tap the cone the coil is generating signal that is traveling back into the amp and is being looped back to the sub.So that translates to just a shitty amp or install?

Edit: video isn't working for me http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv278/smashedz28/487694D3-1802-40B1-8A82-86014295CFB4-3498-0000023D2A268FDE.mp4

    Need help troubleshooting

Another thing, as I stated I went on vacation. Vehicle sat in the driveway. I was able to listen to it for a few minutes with no issues. Sub played normal, highs didn't get all scratchy for several minutes. Then it started acting up. The more I mess with it the more I rule out burnt equipment (speakers and amps) and point at the head unit

Disconnected sub amp rcas and same problem. While I had it disconnected I tapped the sub cone and the sub started 'whining' high pitched sound. Tapped it a few times more and it stops. Wtf is that about. Car was still on and sub connected just rca's pulled.

This is terrible timing on my part. I've just left on vacation for about 4 days. My apology but please offer up advice. I'm not the best with a DMM but do own one. I know the sub is wired right I checked the ohms when I put it in and saw 1.2 at the sub disconnected. The rest I don't know till Tuesday. It was working nicely till recently, no issues other than trying to get a little more output from my sub. But sounded very clean. When I heard the sound my first thought was "damn I turned it up too loud and blew my comps" but listening more it wasn't just them it affected everything else. Which then made me think my head unit may have been compromised or what the shop installed for me may have been done sloppy. I'm terrible at removing interior panels which is why I had a shop do that part.

    Give me some good apps

Not sure what your into. Real estate type app I use for work ( just finding a houses sq ft) 'zillow' Speedtest from speed test, net is good for checking Internet speeds. I use the google translate at work a lot too lol. Amazon and Craigslist apps. Netflix comes in handy on down time. Mapquest is a good app for GPS and its free. As far as games just download the free versions before buying anything
  23. I love my 80prs. One of the best head units I've used. I don't feel like I'm going to break it and has quite a bit of control

2 Sundown sd2-8's in a ported box escort build

Should consider either building a smaller box or more speakers for that box. Not sure how the planet audio 3k performs but isn't that a little steep for 2 of those 8's?

    Trunk advice

I've recently installed my sub stage in my 2011 Malibu. 2 sa12's on a saz1500. Box is about 4 cubes tuned low 30's. I'm not blown away by the sound. It's clean and punchy but I'm not getting the blurred vision/nose itching bass I'm looking for. My head unit settings could probably be set a little different but my main concern is the sub orientation. Currently I have subs/port facing rear of vehicle. Everything's bolted down which is why I haven't tried turning it just yet. With the box in the vehicle, back seats folded down and looking in.. Box squeezes in perfect top to bottom. Touches bottom and top. Sides I have maybe 6 inch slots on each side opened up to the rest of the trunk. Could this be my problem? If I fire them forward and don't seal off the trunk will it give me more of what I'm looking for? And if I face them forward and decide to seal it off will I have to fold my seats down every time I want to crank on it? Just looking for advice or people's experiences with trunk installs. I know people say to put em forward and seal it off but I'm not sure I want to go thru the trouble or not. I plan to tear into it tomorrow and play with the hu settings and amp settings.
