Couldn't agree more. I miss my log building days. I ran my Stihl 046 WOT all day long scribing log copes. Oh the good old days.

Hard to say with today's crazy marketing, all in the wording. I am a gambling man myself. So personally would probably buy it, IF their feedback from others checks out. i.e. Reputable seller

People claim refurb is better than new sometimes, as it's been went over an extra time. Don't know if I agree with that thought personally. Other than that what do you have to lose if they are a certified dealer?

Which sub for upper bass extension?

The manufacturers frequency response graph will tell you how the top end will perform.

YIKES! Why you have to talk about me like that? I prefer to call it aging gracefully.
  13. A watt is a watt is a watt. A cheaper amp may or may not handle hard use/abuse as well. Even that is questionable now a days though. Otherwise you will never hear a difference.

Im not keen on the +\- of the shots. But they would have be a short term stepping stone, until I got other life adjustments made if I needed them. Thankfully my doc knows I despise western medicine, and will help make a game plan to get to a balance naturally. I personally would try the supplements first, but finding a trusted company could prove challenging. Otherwise a super healthy diet is the ticket. I got a vasectomy about 8 years ago, and they swore that it doesn't effect testosterone or hormones. I am pretty in tune with my body and strongly disagree. Something to consider if you ever go for one.

I was taught to eat everything on my plate as a youth, a habit that took a long time to break. So I feel you there. I know they can prescribe testosterone shots you give yourself. I would keep hounding them for that option. Otherwise I know there are natural supplements available, that contain the building blocks for the T. All food for thought anyways.

Which sub for upper bass extension?

One added note, sensitivity is typically measured with an input frequently of 1 kHz. This is why a subwoofer or midbass will show a super low number, compared to something designed to play 1 kHz.

Which sub for upper bass extension?

Yeah, what those guys said. Do the subwoofer sealed and you'll get a smoother reach out of the top end of the sub. Model and build ported pods for your mids and you will get the midbass boost from the port. Voila!

Do you lift weights at all Matt? I'm surprised you can't get your doc to give you testosterone shots. And Damn Mikey, that's a hell of a freshmen 20.
  19. The ZED Leviathan would be my top choice for a 6 channel. Otherwise I would go with M5's suggestion, as it would grant you more flexibility in choices. Plus if one amp dies, your not totally ampless. Just curious, are you running a subwoofer amp also? I had to get creative on my last car as I could only fit so many amps in the trunk, so the tweeter amp ended up under the passenger seat.

Recommended subs for old school mini truck

I would suggest modeling the subs for yourself, then you know personally what your getting into. Much smarter that just swapping and buying subs. Winisd is a great program for such modeling. Not sure whom you spoke with from SSA, but Aaron Clinton will set them straight. LoL He is also who I would suggest PM'ing if you have questions about their products, as he had a big hand in designing them.

The SSA Icons call for 2.5 cu ft each sealed, plus displace .19 cu ft. You could add a few braces and would be peeerfect. Otherwise the Xcons call for 2.75 each and displace .20. I have a pair of the Icon 15"s in a sealed box and love them. I put 5 pounds of poly-fil in the box, is the only other suggestion.

I finally got all my door and base trim done in the house this week!!! And also got the daughters subwoofa' and stereo in! It is a 15" Dcon! And the ride! She turned 16 in January, and got it stuck 4X'ing day one. Thus why she is manually cleaning it. LOL

Some pics of the Continental Divide I took last night! its the snowy ridge in the far distance for anyone that doesn't know what they are looking for. And to the left a little from the first one. And to the right from the first one. This ones not zoomed in, but is all three from above in one shot. These ones aren't part of the Divide, but still cool. (and massive) One zoomed in a little. This one is the right peak in the photo above, only from a different mountain top about 30 miles west. And these are the mountains behind the one above, taken from behind this mountain.
  25. If you're after maximum space, I would suggest make it as tall as possible. This will give you the second dimension, as you already have the first dimension. Then figure out whatever depth lands you at 2.5 cu ft. Minus the wall thicknesses and sub displacement of coarse. Worst case is you will be limited to the width of the subs on the face, if you are facing them up. In which case that will give you your Depth, then figure out the height to land at 2.5 ft.³ internal dimensions. Google volume calculator or any other website with such program is your friend , just continue to tweak the dimensions until you come up to the correct volume. Just remember you are doing internal volumes. So your 46.5 would only be 45 on the Calculator, if you are using three-quarter inch material on the two sides.
