Guess I misread "a pod under the seat" comment as a sealed pod. I didn't guess you would run infinite baffle under the seat. My bad. Anyways a good bang for the buck midbass with a paper cone. http://gr-research.com/m165xwoofer.aspx or this http://www.diysoundgroup.com/anarchy-woofer/anarchy-4ohm.html I personally had full rangers on the dash in my last car and always wanted to try the bamboo impregnated paper cone tang band. https://www.parts-express.com/tang-band-w3-1364sa-3-bamboo-cone-driver--264-844 As far as tweeters I think the ND 20 would be hard to beat for what your planning. Good luck with the install!

When nothing else will change, change your perspective is a wise choice Matt. No sense in making yourself sick because of a sick situation. Hoping the best for you buddy.

Now you have me jelly. Wish I lived somewhere I could ride right onto a trail system from my property. Then I could justify a sled.

We had to euthanize Daisy dog after her 13th b-day, which was hard. Cleopatria has been a great predecessor and is a ball of joy to have. Crazy smart, affectionate and full of puppy energy! Oh SNoW... Good to hear the new pad is treating you guys kindly.

Sounds like a volatile confluence, hopefully you are on the shore. The cycle of checks and balances has been accelerated lately for myself also.

I believe what Five is asking is how much volume you can fit for the mid bass, not the mid range. Then human ear can not localize sound under 80 Hz, The human ear can only pick up side to side in the midbass range. The directional artifacts in the music come from the mid range and tweeter. So if you were after a good soundstage, then their location is very important. With a good processor not as important, but still smart to not make it hard on yourself. You will have the best luck blending/phasing with the tweet and mid range mounted as close together as possible, on the same baffle. Like the pod you just posted. The volume of that pod is not very important. You can vent it into the factory dash speaker hole and put poly fill in the pod if it is too small. Not sure if your wife is a total audiophile? If not I would be surprised if she was not beyond happy with just a 7 inch mid in the door and a good tweeter on the dash. ( not in the factory location lol) Not trying to talk you out of anything just reminding you KISS!

I have an Xterra with the same setup. Here are a few pics for ideas. These could be sealed easily I imagine, and perhaps a thinner baffle to gain volume. These are 7" mids btw.

Think I might have outsmarted the skunk thats been breaking into my chicken coupe. Internet claimed to bury an 18" obstruction. I piled 18" of river rock and brick inside the fence, with dirt and sand on it. Figure this way the skunk will do the digging for me!

2 people died here yesterday, after hitting a bear on the interstate. I have never seen as many encounters as have been reported this year. They claim the bears are reproducing more bc there is a readily available food source present.

I use a temp probe, but don't really pay a whole lot of attention to it. May the first hour or two just to make sure things are rolling. The last 4 butts I smoked. Man did the cooler I hauled them in stink afterwards.

  20. Thanks for the offer, i will keep it in mind moving forward. I'm planning on making some mounting rings for the large formats and see if I can stomach the shape of the pods will end up. That may persuade me away from large formats. Sean has been a very valuable asset to my last couple biulds. Could not ask for a better audio mentor!
  21. Is my correct question/answer in the natural roll off on the bottom of the tweeter? i.e- The tweeter I had peaked and then dropped off rapidly, and once the Xover was applied I couldn't eq the bottom back with limited eq. I only ask this after looking at the Fr on the drivers you just recommended compared to the d3004/6020. So is a bump with a rapid drop at the bottom end better or the gradual slope for my limited processing capabilities? This is how you explained it long ago with the mids Sean, and it made sense. M5 quoted in reference to a driver with a 10db spike at 4K. " To put it in perspective if you use a 2nd order crossover at 2k it will still have the same output at 4k as at 2k. The range in between will be strange though as the slopes won't match. Obviously a 4th order crossover at 1200Hz or so would be real easy with it, but reducing yourself to having to use high order slopes is not "easy" and doesn't always use the best results." Thanks for being patient with my guys I'm pretty sure I about got my head wrapped around this.
  22. All I see for the D2904 is a large format? if I had to have a small format, I think this one is justifiable. https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/scanspeak-soft-dome-tweeters/scanspeak-illuminator-d3004/6020-00-tweeter-textile-dome/ Could be fun to play ^^^ back to back with the Evil perhaps. I will study all other large formats you have suggested and get back to you on that one.
