    cheap basic o scope

What do you do when the sound levels do not match once you have set all your amps to an arbitrary setting with a scope?

    DSP's

A 2-way with a 10" and a full-ranger mounted on axis would be a great place to get the feet wet.

    rockford midbass drivers?

At the end of the day it is still all about Hoffmans iron law. By the time you build a stout enough enclosure for the midbass. Then account for the displacement of the enclosure and the speaker, you will have a small enclosure. I speak from experience, plan on having a lot of power and a speaker that can handle it. At the minimum one that can handle 200watts, at the bare minimum. I would highly recommend one that can take more. Think about how much power you feed your sub. Do you think a 100 or 150 Watt 10" will level out and not be stressed? If sticking in that power range, a 7" mid/woofer 2 way will sound better. Believe me I'm not trying to talk you out of anything. My mantra is no guts, no glory! But it is a lot of work and money. So if it's not thought out and calculated correctly, it will be less than stellar.

I'm guessing you are talking basketball? I went to one of our semi-finals games for state this last weekend. Was a nail biter by the end. Last 3 minutes was almost nothing but fouls. We won by 2 points, but lost the last game the next day by 2.

    rockford midbass drivers?

I'm pretty sure what Sean is trying to say is if you are going to do the midrange in the door, you do not need a midbass with as much range. And is no need to buy more than what is needed for the application. If the mid will be up on the a-pillar, you will want a midbass with more top end, for flexibility in tuning. Same with the midrange. In the door will require a bigger one, with more top end as it will be off axis. He is more adroit at acoustics then I will ever be, so I generally take what he says into account.

    rockford midbass drivers?

I personally would shoot for a sub designed for a small/medium sealed enclosure. This is the guy I've been eyeballing. https://www.parts-express.com/peerless-by-tymphany-sdf-250f75pr01-06-10-paper-cone-subwoofer--264-1654 If you're into more high end, this guy would be sweet. https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-10-subwoofers/seas-l26roy-10-subwoofer-d1001-04-4-ohm/ there is a few other peerless that look promising also.

    rockford midbass drivers?

My vote would be a 10 inch. I've done 10" and 12" midbass. The 10" had a puncher sound and just sounded more accurate in the desired range. I think you're on the right track testing a sealed and tuning to the cabin response. I did some testing with the 10" in sealed box and really liked the results. I built the box a little big and just added blocks to get the desired Q. I'm currently in the process of building some ported boxes in a few sizes, to test the limits the of the 7". We will see how they perform. I honestly think a 10" sealed will smoke the 7" ported though, in regards to output and distortion in the midbass range.

House is in a great location. Was clearly a spec house though, so the fit and finish was shit. On the plus, the appraisal value this year is 2.5 times what I paid 6 years ago. That and I'm 9 years down on the principle, from overpaying each month.

No need. There are build in speakers already in there and I brought my own mic for the misses to hum on!

Had initially intended to do it this way. Even bought oak dowel. In the end I was fearful I would a.blow-out the plywood edge, and b.go to deep and the dowel hole would show once the corners were rounded over.

Thanks dude! I was impressed for being plywood and them also being my first ones. Has been a fun learning experience. I am definitely hoping Sean will chime in. Although I will most likely attach all the foam I do not see an acoustical reason for it needing to be? I googled the question a few times but it is such a broad topic. I have the cookbook out on the table right now, just haven't had the time to read.
