And yes I seem to do everything the hard way at least once in life. Good for perspective purposes if nothing else.

They were stamped steel and powder coated. For what I make an hour now, it would of been stupid. But I was young and poor.lol

I bought a set of Michelin Defenders for the Jeep this week. They seem to be up for the task, and quiet enough also.

Guess it’s all how vain you can afford to be lol.

Last wheels I painted, I removed all the old paint and crap with a cupped wire wheel on the grinder and cleaned with Prepz-all. Then used rustolium spray paint. About the only cheaper way, at the expense of time.

You lucky ducky, other than the cranium cringing. one More week of worky and I’ll be off for three.

Trying to get the energy to finish some speaker boxes.

Let me guess, was it a Westin?

It looks like a good idea.... from what I researched, after you posted about it. :p I have always enjoyed the ease of navigation of just about every Alpine unit I’ve ever had. It is in it’s 2.0 version also which is a plus. I am definitely excited to hear the outcome, as I know you are pickier than me.

No. But if I did, I would bash my head in to something really hard until I came to my senses.

...Over what? The globe? GTFO conspiracy theorists make me lose faith in the future of mankind like a trip to Walmart.

I am definitely late to the party. lol especially feel that way when I read everyone posts from the 2000’s. I’m sure by now you’ve figured out it’s all in fun. As I hit the mark years ago, just savoring the flavor at this point.

So far I find the CA’s to be less aggressive in the midrange compared to the U’s. Not necessarily dull or smudged so much, although they are smoother. More of a time domain thing perhaps, like a more rapid decay. Otherwise they blend better with the sub stage. Like I said, still on the honeymoon. So will report back more. The ER’s had a very pleasant and detailed sound, on the test bench full range open air. To my ears at least. Haven’t tried them in an enclosure yet. Perhaps a good analogy of the L’s would be the detail of the ERs with the mid bass of the CA’s? With the trade off being the tweeter will need to be crossed lower, losing sensitivity.

The Seas “L” is the only driver I don’t have it in the prestige lineup. Still need a second RLY also.

CA18RNX’s. I am still in the honeymoon period with your set in the car, but love the way rock ‘n’ roll sounds on them. The next enclosures I plan on building are going to be in the 1.3 to 1.5 cuft. range. After checking out Troels G’s and Zaph’s 2.5 TMM setups I said let’s do this! I imagine should be about the easiest woofer to tame for a beginner in that alignment. Oh fun with speaka’s!!

Randal's GMT400 "Phantom Dually" Build
j-roadtatts replied to Randal Johnson's topic in Automotive and Performance
Thought of you when I seen these. Figured you might get a laugh if nothing else. -
And I might need my head checked. Bought another set of Seas speakers this morning.

God I fucking despise MDF. I still have hives from head to toe from the formaldehyde.

The other set I have built are .8 cuft, and modeled after the Re-discovery's.

Made a couple sets of knockdown cabinets this last Tuesday. Modeled after the SR71 enclosure, for .5 cuft. The second set is the same, only depth changed for a .3 cuft.
