4" x 3.14 = 12.5 sq. in. each 6" x 3.14 = 18.8 sq. in. each If I'm not mistaken Except area of a circle isn's r*2, it's r^2. So the 6" port would actually be 9 * 3.14 = 28.3. I knew someone smarter than me would get here sooner or later. I see everyone talking about a areo ports the last couple days, so I was trying to brush up on the my math with google. Its been about 15 years since school for me. So I think this is correct , radius x radius x pi = surface area or as you wrote radius squared x pi = surface area? Thanks for the schooling KU40, I love to learn and I listen to anything you say. When calculating Areo ports do you add anything extra to the surface area for the flare or just calculate like a regular round port? While I'm at it do you know where to start measuring port lenght on a kerfed slot port opening?

Adjusting the tune on a existing enclosure
j-roadtatts replied to jrod1050's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
At what point does the human ear start to notice a differance in tuning freq. change? How close to desired freq. is good enough? -
If you want cheap you have the wrong hobby. Get the MDF where its closest to where you live, and quit tripping over dollars to pick up a dime.

Do these or don't these have a metal/steel case? Nathan tells me I'm wrong for saying they have a protective metal case, Denim says (and everywhere you read) the "s" series steel case????? I thought the "s" stood for "starting" battery? I am calling mechman and nathan tommarow anyways with other questions about BOTH batterys I got, but thought others might want to know on here? I definetly like just talking to people on the phone when I'm giving them a bunch of MY money.

I finally got time to notch and box the big humps on the sides of the trunk floor. Its a fight to get every inch. I really want the box to be 5cf net and still be able to get the spare out. So far its looking like I will have 13 inches behind the box and barely enough room to get the spare out. Once I cut the bottom piece of the box I will know for sure. The left side was about twice as much metal to remove. I welded plate over the holes and sealed what ever I didn't weld with silicone. I was scared to weld any more on the front of the left side as the gas fill is an inch away.(don't even get me stated on welding safety) Remember I am making two shapes of boxes hooked together to get the 5cf net/6.3cf gross and forward facing, sealed from the trunk with expanding foam. Anyway heres a pic of a little progress.

I think its preference more than anything. I am using the titebond ll because its sooo cold out I think it will be easier to work with. Otherwise I would of used subfloor glue. you could silicone the inside when done just to be safe just let the silocone dry so you don't have any fumes left. Me I am going to fiberglass the inside So I will not be using silicone.

Thanks for throwing me under the bus after your the one that told me I could get the free shipping there. LOL just kidding. Good to see the store got updated.

Its been a busy week, plus don't even get me started about the snow. I finally spent the last of my paypal money from all the stuff I sold to pay for this project. I spent the last 250 bucks on 20sq ft more dampener and four sheets of Luxury Liner Pro + can o' glue!!! WoW this stuff is HEAVY. Feels like the wrestling mats from school. I hope this will make ALL the outside noise go away and trap ALL the Music on the inside!!!

Did you leave the Mid-bass Pods sealed? If so how do they sound? Yes I still have envy of your three ways.
