The wiring looks cleaner. You should secure the battery though.

How do the JL's sound?
-
If you want permanent I would use silicone, VERY SLIPPERY, No squeeky. Otherwise I would try a big patch of velcro or just put something rubber between them.

Power Question.

The door pods came out great, I like how you keep the pod part looking seperate. I bet those JBL's are Evil Wicked Nasty loud. Probably tryin' to rip the door apart.

Nice battery. Coming along nicely Steve, Keep up the good work.

You will be fine with the sub firing in the trunk with the seat up. The sub will probably even be louder firing into the closed up trunk. You won't win any SQ comps but if you have 4 6x9s in your back deck I don't think you care anyways. Good luck.

Looks like you are riding in style now that you got everything in. Knowing you though I am sure you already have plans to change some things around. The progress looks good anyways. (for shitty pics)

Here are some Pics that I took early in the morning so the have flat light. I am pretty happy with the way the trunk turned out. I DO plan on installing matching fuse holders and still need to install a gas strut on the trunk lid. I wish I could of made a false floor to mount the amps under but MY compromise was to have more usable trunk space and a Spare tire. I wish I could of concealed the wires but oh well, everything functions great and I can still use my car to travel. The funniest thing, My wife is pretty keen and ALWAYS lets me know her thoughts. I am trying SO HARD to make this SQ car loud ALSO, when the wife says "you know what you need, two Rides SO you can have one SPL and one SQ"!!!!! I love this woman.

Looks good other than the baby shit yellow on the walls. Does that granite backsplash run behind the cooktop? (why the seam?) What brand cooktop did you get?

Looks like you are in good hands Brother Chop. Your artist looks like he cared about his work, as It shows in the fineshed work!!!! Thats two you've gotten since I met you And I haven't gotten any. HA HA. I am trying to get one this week, We will see if I get can any free time though. I will post. Got a bunch of pics I need to download on my myspace, I will let you guys know when I get them posted also.

Dude you are solid, I JUST READ YOUR SIG and you are using the H100 which has T/A . Looks like YOU NEED TO READ THE MANUAL.

I think I am going to try that now, that idea does sound sick. So I would need something for time correction between the two midbass drivers but I only have a three way active crossover so I guess I would need to upgrade that. I hope that would be some monster midbass though, that's insane xmax, plus I wouldn't need to destroy my door panel for that. And no I never called aura sound because I decided I would keep looking around and look at that option last, I still might though but this option is so far my favorite, although I like the 18s drivers too. You will be happy with the dual setup. Definetly easier to install also. Aura wanted 200 ea plus shipping so I would ONLY do that if you REALLY want them. And yes I did get the last two out of three where I got em'. I knew it!!! Yeah, I should be pretty happy with this, will get the money together and hopefully then some pics. Need to pic a different amp now because those are 8 ohm I believe. If you are wiring them dual you will have a 4ohm load presented to the amp. As far as T/A I would just get everything in and see how it sounds with what you have. You can try different phase combinations between the two sides to help with timing also.

I SOOO wanted to do a false floor in the trunk but wanted the space also, I guess everything is a compromise.

nope not yet, payment was sent so i am guessing they are building them right as we speak....when i talked to him he said he could build it and ship in a single day. I am so pumped on getting it...what does yours do at idle? My payment cleared also. Iam SUPER EXCITED, plus I am waiting on two other boxes with my front drivers. I don't know what my does at idle, But He said enough to piss off my engine at full tilt. I didn't order one off their menu, I just told Dave I was after a 220-250 amp and only wanted to spent 500. He said he would build me a 250xp for $525 shipped but didn't have the specs. I trust them So I think I am In good hands.

I just need to order a waterproof one. I hopefully can install the fuse when I am instaling the HO alt. DC still hasn't send a delivery confirm yet? how about you?
-
I figure IF the alt frys or shorts then everything else is safe including my equipment. IF something else frys or shorts then my 500 dollar HO alt is safe. Like I said cheap insurance.
-
No Garage, I wish. I would get done way quicker.

I think this car will sound pretty good when I'm done, WE will see. Anyone with a BTL in their ride knows how AMAZING this Beast is!!!!! Lots and Lots of pictures to come.

I am Definetly racking my brain about good ways to mount the midbasses. Mostly How I want to brace the door metal. Once I cut the hole out so they can breathe, I will probably will use an oak strip or two inside the door, then sandwich the metal around the hole with MDF on the other side. I will mount the 10" flat with the door this time, not angled like the 6.5's. Probably build the pod out of fiberglass to keep the weight down, but will also calculate the weight of the pod if I build it out MDF. I don't think it matters as long as the door is solid to start. The Fostex's are going on the dash on axis with the drivers seat. I will build these pods out of fiberglass for a form fitted look on the dash and for a cool shape. I am brainstorming ways to form the top shape of the pod? I can make a wire frame or use metal lathe and glass over that. OR I can mold seperate pieces the shape I want the top of the pod and attach that to my dash piece. MAYBE find something the right shape and modify it. I AM DEFINTLY OPEN TO IDEA'S on both pods.
-
I HOPE!!!!! Should be like being in the actual studio when it comes to midbass. Concert in a car!!!!! I am VERY exited to get them SO I can start fitting. Atleast they are in the mail.

Was the Porter Cable plunge router alot more? Can't wait for more Pics.

I personally have never fused it before, but think it might be a good Idea with the HO. this way if something happens its isolated. Cheap insurance I guess.
-
Or get 1/0 thats rated for 300amps. My HO alt is only 250amp so I am good with the wire I have, I just need to install a fuse on alt wire.
