Speaking of cops I got pulled over last night on my way home and got a possession & paraphernalia ticket. The cop put my court date on 4/20 and tried being funny about it. Oh well.

Welcome to SSA. I am VERY interested in this sensor you are having issues with. As you stated you can probably trick it to work but without understanding that particular system I can't help. I recommend you call your local(or any that will help) Dealers CERTIFIED Tech and talk to them. THIS will probably atleast explain "HOW" the system works and they might even know an easy fix. Also I suggest starting a topic in the HU/electric or general Section about your problem as more ppl will see it there. Don't forget to read the "before posting" topic to get the best help.

LOvin' the bracing, You make any woodworker PROUD. I am surprized you didn't rabbit joint them though. Keep up the AMAZING work.

Here is my lab "Daisy" in her favorite truck. She lives to ride in the old Ford. She always wants to be by my side.

I must do them on the dash, if they where on the a-pillar they would be to much in my line of vision on-axis. As you can see with the mock up horn I should clear the airbag panel. I know theres a few people on here with the FF85K in thier rides, If nothing else I will PM them for a hands on opinion. Gotcha.....I wasn't thinking line of sight. My thought process was cut a hole in the a-pillar and recess it as much as you could into the pillar and glass a baffle to that, but that doesn't exactly help with the venting issue on the backside. Sounds like you have a plan and have thought it through much better than I did. You do have the advantage of having the car with you however! Now get off the computer and get out there and get them in! HaHa! I wish I could work on my car right now BUT I am sick as shit with a head cold. I am driving the Xterra today as my wife is getting the windsheild replaced in the Honda while I am at work. Its all good as I have been reading the fiberglass forums. I honestly think I am OVERTHINKING the dash pod as I usaully find things are completly different in real time once I get to building. Once I have the drivers in hand I will start building. I think the stretched fabric thing should work fine, Thats why I say I think I am OVERTHINKING it.

I have been stupid busy with life right now so I haven't had time to start on the dash pods but am optimistic. The Fostexs should be here tomarrow!!!!! I am a member over on Fiberglass forums also. Youtube has a bunch of crazy fiberglass builds too. I think the foam Idea is probably the way I will go as I can envision it already. I do have a question for the speaker guru's, should I worry about baffle thickness on the Fostex's????? The chamber behind the baffle will only be 3/4" bigger around than the baffle opening. My other question is Since the dash pod will be over the factory tweeter hole, Should I vent the pod into the dash????? The hole would only be about an inch or so. Anyways heres where the Fostex's are going....... The fuckin' airbag on this side is my limiting factor for size.

If you have to ask "if they are worth IT" then they probably are. The choice is your though.

Thanks for the tip Richard. I was thinking of the removable mold Idea also but hadn't thought of using expanding foam, I was thinking wax. They will be right in my face so I will definetly want to make sure they look good. I am hoping to find something pre-made the right shape SO EVERYBODY brainstorm of things a shape they think might work and let me know if you think of ANYTHING??????

I am not to worried about the wieght (famous last words) on the door. I think the hindges will handle the extra 20lbs fine. Most of the wieght is at the front of the door. We will see!!! Worst case senerio is I have to replace the hindges once a year, But I honestly think the hinges can handle more than they have on them now. I am sure MANY a ppl are waiting to see how I do it.

Yeah I've been busy, busy. I am hoping to get MY sleeves buttoned up this year but I have unfineshed work already started on most of my body SO it pretty much pick-a-spot. I am working on getting the pic for one I am getting this week. I can't say any more yet though.

SWEEEEET. Can't wait to see the some more pics.

I am thinking about buying " The Loudspeaker Cookbook 7th ed" by Vance Dickanson. Is this book worth the money? Is there anything else I should read with/before/after I read this?
-
you can get angle iron at Blowes but you will need to go to an auto parts store for the battery tie down.
-
yeah i know what you mean, i wish the factory panel was an exact 6.5 because in the pic it would look funny If the hole in the factory panel is restricting sound I might concider doing the stacked grill. I would just use machine screws to attact the JL grill to the door panel. I also recommend putting whetherstrip around the speaker to seal it to the door panel.

the wire is clean for the 3000D but still not yet for the 100.4 whats a good way to secure it? block of wood plus L bracket If it where my car, I would get a battery hold down with the j-bolts, THEN screw a short piece of 1" angle iron to the floor on both sides an hook the j-bolt through a hole in the angle iron. this way the battery will stay put in a wreck/rollover. easy to remove also.
-
I would leave the factory grill if it where mine. I think the stacked grill would look bow-bow.
