    Welcome to the IHoP

I'd rather pedal than run, rollerblade, walk, or any other aerobic exercise I can think of. I am going to get in shape and I am going to enjoy it. After riding the exercise bike at the gym thats layed back makes me understand why people ride them gay looking recumbent bikes. It sure is easier on the back and joints and everything else, more than a conventional bike that is. I don't know that you will catch me riding a recumbent bike any time soon though. I am just glad I can start hiking again, there are so many awesome trails around here, and that shit is good cardio. I fucking hate jogging on pavement.

    "The Pimp Van" Rebuild

Danm dude, you kicked some as, and took some names!!! AND looked like you were having fun doing it. Hows it sound? Does it meet your expectations?
  5. Yes you want the ground to the alt mount , but if not possible use the next closest point. YES the third link is from alt + to batt +, this wire lets the current flow directly to the battery with a path of least resistence. If you are leaving another factory ground somewhere ALSO, then use the 2ga there.

    Welcome to the IHoP

We really didn't do as well as expected but we did finish up the endurance race yesterday with a working car. Just found out the unofficial results are posted. 41st overall Mainly the competition objective of making a vehicle for the average weekend off road enthusiast is pretty much a lie. Some how teams with chromoly frame custom platics and carbon fiber panels can cost less on the cost report then a team with Carbon Steel DOM, and aluminum body panels. We didn't get any kind of points for being one of very few teams that passed tech inspection first try. Then they gave away an "attention to detail" award for teams that were always prepared, and had all there registration covered, etc... Something we always did and then they give the award to Cornell, a fancy team that didn't even pass tech the first time. Atleast it sounds like you had fun.

    MDF and Fiberglass

You should pre drill both pieces together, then glue, then install screws. As far as the corner rounding , either use a router or a sander.

    My Nissan Frontier Build

You will have best results with ONLY aluminum foil where the resin is going to be, or as little tape as posible. The resin will make the tape all gooey and hard to remove. ALSO keep your resin inside and warm until you are ready to use it. I found out IT cures better this way. Good luck.

You can NEVER have to many grounds. As far as voltage meter if you like having one glaring at you at all times the Stinger one is cool, of wise I just have on I stick in the cig lighter when I want to check my voltage. Do work Son.

Sweet score! are you going to mount it somewhere you can see it? That would be cool. As far as your adding a second batt for your highs, you will want the second batt as close to the amp as possible, like 18" or less. Any time you add a battery you are making your alternator work harder, SO make sure to watch your voltage when you first hook it up. IF this is a frame and body vehichle you will want to ground the second batt to the floor and ALSO put a short wire under the body hooked to the same bolt and the frame. SO sandwich the body with the ground bolt, make sense? Your big3 should ALSO include a forth wire grounded to the frame from the engine block/alternator mount. Keep up the good work.
  16. I do have to agree with sir lancelot, just use music CDs you are familiar with. Set the gain low and listen for a day or two, turn it up alittle if you think it can handle it, listen for a day or two, repeat until they start to sound like shit and then turn it down just a hair. Your ear is the best tool in your arsonal. It usauly takes me a week or two of listening .
  17. I sure do love our SSA techs.
  18. I know theres one back of the HU you could check, also check you amp as some have multible fuses. This is the first time I have heard of this fuse thing SO I recommend check ALL the fuses you can find. Otherwise you could run RCA's from someone elses cars HU and see if it's the signal or not? that would be the first test I would try after checking ALL fuses and settings.

Its not rocket science, BUT does require ashit load of patience. Just replace one wire at a time until every wire is fixed, this way you don't get confused. IF you don't have the patience find someone who does. I do have the patience. And the service manual Took it all out today and layed out on the floor it doesn't look half bad. I'm going tomorrow to see an identical machine and take pics of whatever part of the wiring that was burnt beyond recognition. Just take breaks when you get frustrated and you will be good. Sometimes I can find a harness out of a junk car or something and use that wiring because then you'll have differant colors and WAY CHEAPER than buying wire new. just make sure the wire size is correct. Good luck.

  24. Does anyone know which fuse was blown? i.e. back of HU or somewhere else?
  25. Interesting about the fuses. It is always good to check the simple stuff first, and cheaper.
