Sounds about like my last trip a couple years ago. Definitely was sorer than I had ever remembered being when young.

The Vizio 5.1 wireless has been satisfactory for me. Believe it was around $150. Was a gift so I didn't pick it out, but no complaints. Then again I don't have freaky deaky Dutch hearing like Sean.

Spoke too soon on the snow. Was a nasty drive home.

Speaking of there was a nice 5.1 Dayton set on sale on parts express I looked at recently. Maybe worth checking out Mikey! https://www.parts-express.com/b652-51-home-theater-surround-sound-speaker-system-with-10-subwoofer--300-689

Sounds like good logic to me. Hopefully they are a more reasonable price also.

Well how was it?

Who's got enclosed Evil mids?
j-roadtatts replied to Tirefryr's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
I currently have them in these ported enclosures Ryan. They are .8 cu tuned to 45hz. I also have a set of .5 and .3 cube sealed enclosures, but haven't tried the Evils in them yet. The Evil has a pretty healthy BL so should have no problem eq'ing the bottom back up in sealed I would think. I plan on putting them in the mustang kicks as soon as time permits. I can test them in the sealed and give feedback if that's what you're after? I assume you are asking for the Ford? This is what I threw in last summer to get some jam's. Definitely not my best work, but figured I'd share for visual at least. I plan on upgrading if i ever find time. But will say the door plays midbass better than expected without much done to it. I'm not running a sub and is enough for country driving. lol The one thing I noted was I could probably skin the inside of the door with 1/4"-1/2" plywood and all but seal it up. That’s 1/2” in the pic and fits under the door panel. Double 1/2” on that bottom back corner as the sheet metal dips in. Also would say the enclosure would have to be pretty small. just guessing I'd say .15-.2 cube. other note is the window arm in the door catches on the back most screws when almost all the way down, so would check what space that occupies with the window down also. -
I need some advice and recommendations.

The ones I have are rated at 1250. Would easily handle more. A lot of that depends on the enclosure size and design. If you have room for a large enclosure you can make it really efficient and use lower power. If you have a small enclosure you can easily run more power. You will still come up relatively to the same SPL. One just requires less power and smaller amp. Which is good if you are Ballin on a budget. Hoffmans iron law. -
Was supposed to snow all weekend but we have gotten nothing but rain. On the plus our snowpack is over 100%!!

Tis’ rockslide season. Was beach ball sized boulders in the highway a couple days ago. Then last night must’ve just been a rockslide, as there were cars that must’ve hit it and cops over.

I have the $150 Visio special. Nothing overly epic, but it is more than satisfactory for as much as I watch TV. Besides I don’t watch at cinema volume levels.

Was down another five on the scale when I jumped on it yesterday!

Whatever works brotha’! I just spent $100 on beef jerky, cheese sticks, pistachios and a few cases of Redbull’s! That’s my diet for the week Fam!

I’m running the SSA icons. I’m an SSA snob so I would go for the Gcon’s although there are probably a little over your price budget. Otherwise the demons are pretty sweet if you’re not dead set on 2k.Just ordered a pair myself yesterday! Otherwise go check out the subs in as a SSA store as there are a few that meet your criteria. As far as battery I just run an AGM from O’Reillys auto parts. I ran XS and Optima batteries in the past. Nothing really special about a high dollar one if you can get away with the one at the part store. -
Sounds like you’re killing it bro!! Progress not perfection no matter how unconventional.

I’m running 2k to a pair of 15”s on a stock 130 amp alternator with 2 AGM battery’s. Plus two other amps for mids and highs. Stock alternator handles it fine and did well with just one battery. You should be golden with 2k as long as you get a stout battery. If you like to listen at full tilt for long periods you may need to upgrade or add a second battery. But I would suggest just starting with a good AGM under the hood and going from there. -
Local import shop didn’t want anything to do with it as they don’t have the specialty tools. My mechanic really didn’t want to do it either. Figured if they were avoiding it that badly I probably shouldn’t attempt myself.

Going to drop 2100 on a new timing chain in the Xterra next week, at the dealership. Oh yeah. Should be good for another hundred K at least.

Ended up scoring a whole new exhaust on the jeep when it went in for the bumper repair. The bill went from 1200 to 7K. Insane the exhaust cost that much. Thankfully it was covered by dudes insurance!

I was pretty sure that’s what you meant after I googled it. Sexy little Miata!
