only 2 door speakers on 4 channel?
j-roadtatts replied to tac2137's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The passive xover that came with the speakers only filters the top of the mid and bottom of the tweeter. The xover on the amp is filtering the bottom of the mid only. Iirc you started off with the lp/hp shut off, does it sound like before the amp install with that setting off? Did you have the cups behind the mid installed before the amp? You say the sound is worse after the amp. Do the speakers sound any louder or better with the amp excluding the bass portion? -
It's been awhile, I'm back! Few questions

Adjust the xover down to 63hz and see if it helps the sound. -

What sounded better? elaborate please. the overall sound was more balanced, the output level, less distortion, cleaner/crisper highs, more bass, less bass????? My opinion of "sounded better" could be completely different as thats very subjective. So what sounded better about the one setup to you? Then we can hone in on reproducing that for you. I too would love to see a pic and know what other filters are in use. -

HP is high pass filter. The Frequency setting is where the HPF lets anything higher than that freq pass through. Without the HP turned on you are sending a full signal to the speakers, and forcing the speaker to play lower than it is intended. You could set the HPF to 63hz and would gain back some bass, but at the expense of output. Vise versa you can set to 100hz and gain output, but at the expense of midbass. Ideally you would hope the sub covered up to 80-100hz with a LPF, and then you can afford to cross the mid/tweet higher for more output. -

Set the high pass filter to 80-100hz. -
I was pissed when I went to Ozzfest and Ozzy played with Black Sabbath.

Purchased the Borgeson aftermarket power steering for the Mustang this morning!!! Is painful to watch the W drive without.

Any nice ones? My luck I would only get the ones with high mileage and over weight I would say 9 out of 10 are under age 25. Most of that other slice are not older than 30. Every once in a while we get an alley cat, thats when you pray the other guy gets it! So yeah, they are pretty much all VERY bangable.

Pierce LOTS of roast beef sammiches though!!!!
-
Nope. Just had a guy call and ask if i pierce dick. I told I'm not touching your dick MF.

Anything good on tap today? J Just another beautiful day covering the world with White trash one tattoo anytime!! We are down to just my brother and I at the shop right now, so working two days a week by myself. Makes for some crazy busy days trying to tattoo and deal with clients at the same time. Need a dizzle! Trixie is doing good. Same loudmouth gutter punk as always.

Ugh, back on the elliptical and then off to work.

Yes the Ozone is a bulb. I replaced the whole unit as it needed it. Forgot to say those parts were trivial.

Is a Gecko board and t-9 controller. Has the heater build into the bottom of the board assembly. 4kw heater IIRC. The Dimension One's had a proprietary board and controller build by Gecko. I just ordered the universal one with correct specs.
-
Have had to replace the control board twice now. Once when I bought it and again after about 3 years. Also replaced the ozone and pump seals.

Meh. Add shock once a week. Wash the filter and add a little enzyme once a month. Drain and clean every 3-4 months. I pressure wash my top every couple weeks during the summer, but that's because I am already right there running the washer. And its under a canopy of trees.
-
Mine is a Dimension One. An older model so no linky. Curious what you discovered as to how to pick one that is top of the class?
-
I enjoy tattooing for the same reason I do alot of things. I get to leave a profound and significant impact on people.
-
Hey Mikey, If you really want me to pick on you just come visit. I will put you in a world of PAIN!!!!!

They are a waste of money if you don't use them often. As with most things in life.

I bet the foot jetts are REAL nice!! That would be one of the biggest reasons for me to upgrade.

I did wear out the cassette, but wore out two of Speak of the Devil. Not Randy, but the fidelity is way better and the guitar work isn't so shabby either. Wore out Diary as well.Amusingly all three landed here at the house in CD form in the past few weeks No rest for the wicked has been my long time standing favorite. Generally have a hard time listening to live albums but the Tribute just has epic energy!! I need to order a Speak of the Devil album. Can say I have never owned that one.<STILL wearing out cassettes in my truck. Need to install the Seas and a deck.
