Searched a bunch and didnt find much relative info. Any info on the Gen 2 Alpine PDX Amps? I know the first gen had some heating and noise issues. What's the word on the second gen ones?

Hey boys - I'm planning out a new system for my 03 F-150 Harley Davidson. The only 2 things set in stone are the JL Stealthbox - 12w3v3-4 which should take about 400watts rms. And the H/U (for now) is a Alpine 9886. I have the H/U but need to buy the JL - anybody have a good place to buy JL at less than retail? I'd like to run DLS UP6i speakers up front with a Sundown 125.2. They recommend 150watts RMS so I don't know if the Sundown will be sufficient for it. Thoughts? Do I need a seperate amp for the tweeters? For the sub I need something solid 400watts rms. Maybe the 125.2 bridged? What would be good rear fill? Only experienced info on this question please!

looking at a SAZ and SAE1000d, and need to clarify the differences. -thinner case on the SAE -smaller heatsink on the SAE What were the other differences? Any reason not to get the SAE?

thanks foe the replies guys. But help me out on which one I should pick up!

It's going in an 01 f150 with a stock alternator rated at 130. Any reason why that's not enough? I'll likely do the big 3 and if I need to, a new battery. I can get a sae for 175 or saz for 275 where and how can I check ahead what my voltage is and if it's stable?

So if i was going to run 1k watts rms at 1ohm, the saz would be a much better choice?

Good to know. So for a daily driver amp, is the SAE going to be good? I can get one for less than $200 bnib, or a SAZ for 300 bnib. Both with warranties. Just looking for better quality, but I understand the SAE doesn't have many issues..

Found this on another forum: SAE's don't have as high of grade of components as the SAZ's. SAE's do rated power, SAZ's do over rated power. The heatsinks are also different. In terms of comparison, a SAZ-1000d would perform similar to an SAE-1200d. Basically, any reason to not get the SAE?
