2 soundsplinter rl-p 12's and a saz-1500 @ 1 ohm

Hi! How ironic! I was reading about you guys (SKAR Audio) a few days ago. If I could only get a demo of 2 12"s, I would have prob already made an order! Most preorder shipments , etc will be arriving this week to customers and video's will start going viral . As far as a live demo, I am sure we can work something out. How far are you from Tampa/Orlando? Each distance separate. I would love to give you a demo of my daily with the 4 VVX-12's on a SAZ-2500D. I'll be looking for demo of this at the KOB show if you're going.

True. I'm still working on some 4th order designs actually. Not sure if I'll try the MB's in one or not. Too many subs and not enough time lol. Not a bad problem to have!

Got 2 MB Quart 12's in my Jimmy right now. 300w rms power handling. I'm running a SAZ-1500 on them. Any guesses as to what it will do? It's tuned for music not burping so it's not gonna do anything crazy. I was just have some fun seeing what I could get some cheap subs to do.

I'm sure I could get a lot more out of the MB's but this is just my personal daily box. I'm not really willing to give up my SQ and good frequency response just for #'s in my own vehicle.

did some messing around with my 12's box. I took the MB Quart's out and rounded all the edges on the box and sealed up around the speaker wire better. Also took out my C&D batt and put my kinetik 2400 in. I was planning on putting my MB Quarts back in, but I really wanted to hear these 2 Soundsplinter rl-p's I got. The quarts were very impressive for a cheap sub, but they were really struggling to take the SAZ-1500. Anyways, on to the results. Now keep in mind there are quite a few variables to take into account here. When I first metered the mb's, I had been driving around all day beating on them. Also, I did not try moving the box at all. I did not mess with box positioning today other than just moving it forward a few inches. Playing Jeezy's trap or die( same song). Around the same temp today as well- 146db sealed on dash Decent for 2 12's and 1500w on music. The Rl-p's crush the MB's on the lows as well. Plays 25hz quite nice. Pretty big gain. Could be a number of things or it could just be the MB's don't meter well

Saw a similar post on ****, but it seems like everyone has an opinion without any real experience to back it up. Why do people in car audio hand out info so freely when they have no clue on the subject? I've been building boxes for over 10 years now and I feel like I've just scratched the surface of enclosure design. But if you post a question on boxes on just about any forum you'll get a flood of advice from kids that have never even built a box. Pretty frustrating. Is there any forums for just box builders? If not, there should be. Kirby get on it. Anyways, sorry for the rant. On to the question In your experience with 4th orders, what ratio sealed/ported do you think works the best and why? Also, the trend seems to be tiny sealed sections, why is this? I know it has a lot to do with power handling, but is that all? Please do not respond to this if you have not designed and built at least 3 4th orders yourself. I will verbally "tar and feather" you if you come on here knowing all the answers without any experience.

Well, this took me a while to carpet. I was putting the sides on this on Monday and my drill slipped off the head of a screw and went through the side of my fingernail. I knew there was a reason I don't like screws.

haha, opposite ends of the state. You should get on FLSPL

Nice work! I can manipulate wood very well, but I wish I could do it with metal as well.

Well, this was a busier day than I expected. Got her metered, a little disappointed with the first test. Playing Jeezy's Trap or Die did a steady 141.5 sealed on the dash. 143 with driver door open. I know they got more in them then that. I'm going to move the box around and seal it a little better and see if I can't get a little more.

lolz, maybe I'll start a new trend

That's what I'm hoping.
