Four 8s, two 10s, or one 15" subwoofer?
SPL_Man replied to Briggiboy33's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
4 8s - 200.96sq 2 10s - 157.0 1 15 - 176.63 in theory 4 8s have the most cone area but if u account for suspension & actually cone area then 1 15 shud be very close id keep things simple & do 1 15 -
i'm in my early 30s , back in my teens & very early 20s i couldnt afford a good car so didnt even a ride of my own to put music in then when i bought my own car i started really getting into it & competing , of course i had to have it loud to be doing some numbers too but for daily use : honestly a single sub or 2 off 1000wrms is sufficient for me

oh wow didnt expect to see all these responses & i'm glad to see there are ppl with some upcoming builds who said they will post them here - that is awesome !!! thanks for ur understanding IA2 , it shows some concern & care for ur customers whole point of this thread is that i'm a IA fan & user of their products simply wondering where are all the cool builds & product support the other brands have its very cool to see some IA owners slowly but surely seeing this thread & coming out to post some stuff awesome post there Audible customs thanks guys

cool , i too am a fan of aeroports & been using them since i started doing car audio yrs ago its certainly diferent to see them being used in a wall though but seems to be working really well for u

i had thought that IA probably made the majority of their sales through brick & mortar shops but yes yall need some ppl here to support ur internet section too like how other brands are supporting their's maybe yall ought to provide some incentive to dealers & those who buy it through shops to come online & post about it , give a few freebies like some stickers , t-shirts , key chains , posters & such which wouldnt cost the company much $ so u get alot more publicity 1 major turnoff for ppl i have talked to who have looked at IA on ur website or on here is lack of T\S specs since they are very skeptical of trying something that cannot even see specs for ...... yes i know IA says not to use t\s to plug into box programs since they did alot of real word testing & to use their recommendation or call\email for advice but afaik IA is the probably the only company that hides its t\s specs though i noticed that recently in the SSA store t\s for some models have been posted up need to have some free box designs up too like how ssa has for their subs

interesting if price is a possible reason - lets compare a few examples of similar level subs 300wrms rating 10" : skar - $120 , SD E (rated 400wrms) - $105 , dcon - $115 , IA - $99 12" : skar - $130 , SD E (rated 400wrms) - $110 , dcon - $125 , IA $109 600wrms 12" - skar - $189 , SD SA - $195 , IA LI - $189 1500wrms 12" SD Zv3 -$425 , IA DP - $459 15" SD Zv3 - $440 , IA DP - $479 i didnt compare every model of each company just those that are similarly rated & as we can see IA price was lower or same except in the 1500wrms level , difference there being between $30-40 i think it probably has to do with poor advertising & marketing , lack of IA personel on this forum to help their customers out or even to promote their products when ppl ask for what subs they should go with etc , maybe their brick & mortar dealers do all of that efficiently but on here it seems very poor to me not trying to create trouble or anything , i'm just saying what it looks like IMO

its very nice to have family help out is it just me or in the 2nd to last pic it looks like the sides of the box are curved inward ? , maybe the camera is making it look that way ? screws in the last pic looks a bit too close to each other but overall good job

Thoughts on Image Dynamics (ID-max) Subs???
SPL_Man replied to snowy8171's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
thanks alot that helps a good bit. Ya i love I.D. (my front comps) so i assumed they had a pretty good sub, but just never really heard anything about it. and also would going a lil lower than 2.5, prob round 2.2 ish give or take still be good? i have a 2011 toyota camry and the trunk is pretty big but id like to have at least some space left. my 2.0 box for my alpine was nice, cause i still had some space for luggage. i would prob just get it to be as wide as possible and did you have the chrome series or the regular one? wow i forgot i posted here mine is the chrome basket model imho the sub doesnt really shine in a small ported box since it makes the sub sound punchy & hard hitting coincidentally i recently temporarily had mine in a 2cuft 35hz box & it doesnt sound close to its true potential so i wouldnt recommend 2cuft at all its true that at $350 its kind of pricey where they are other """SQL""" subs out there like Fi Q for $284 ,IA flatlyne $319 , SSA gcon $199 etc that might give u a batter value for $ i suggest u email each company with ur existing box specs & ask then if it will work -
very nice glad to see they finally released some 8s too

good question & some great answers too

Lethal Injection power handling
SPL_Man replied to russelthalovemuscle's topic in Incriminator Audio
i'm sure ppl wud have noticed that even master experience builders doing monster systems & showing them here in build threads sometimes do ask for opinions & suggestions , to me that shows how humble a person is i think we all can agree that not everybody knows everything & it cannot hurt to ask a opinion in spite of being knowledgeble & experienced -
Thoughts on Image Dynamics (ID-max) Subs???
SPL_Man replied to snowy8171's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
i have own both 12" alpine type R & 12" idmax in both sealed & ported boxes type R is a "all-rounder" subs that can play both low & high bass well depending on the enclosure & how u set ur lpf & ssf the idmax will murder the type R in every way meaning both sq & output idmax : if u want it loud , it loves a large ported box (between 2.5-2.75cut) tuned high 20s to low 30z & a clean true 1000wrms is perfect for it idmax also sounds great in a sealed box if u want it that way for a SQ applications but output is alot lower sealed hope that helps -

thanks OP sometimes i get the feeling that ppl judge a username based on how many posts he has , lack of flashy builds\pics , how long u been on here , popularity etc , in other words : judging a book by its cover even though i signed onto here going into 3yrs i hardly post & mostly just enjoy looking at builds so it may give the impression he probably is a newb that does not know much my low post count falls into that newbie name category but i dont care about that . In other forums my post count is in the 1000s so it does not necessarily mean i have to do that here too to make myself look good some ppl really make a mountain out of a molehill getting back to the original question & then i see absolutely nothing wrong with the 1st post i made & as i suspected : the OP confirmed that he is not a moron with no common sense instead of ppl assuming that he is i think he has the answer right there from IA since some ppl here are claiming to know more about it than the ppl at IA who made the sub or others who have actually used the product
