what wud be cuft for the sub - about 7cuft after displacements ? i dont know if i wud tune it that low since its already plenty of cuft & the port area is way too small since a 6" circle port is only 28.27 sq" , if u divide that by 7cuft it will be like 4sq\cuft , avg recommended size port is 90sq so ur waaaaaaaay off i like circle ports but in this case i too wud advise a slot port ur best bet wud be to call IA up & talk to them -
Remote wire for multiple amps & processors
SPL_Man posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
guys i was wondering about a system that has say 10 amps & a couple of processors if the remote wire voltage from a typical deck will be sufficient or safe to turn on all of these or will a relay be needed to help boost the turn out voltage ? what is usually the voltage out from a deck ? what voltage is required for amps or processors to turn on ? -
Remote wire for multiple amps & processors
SPL_Man replied to SPL_Man's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well thanks for the replies so far but unless i missed it nobody answered questions 2 & 3 ? actually i am working on a "medium size" system that has 7 (maybe 8 amps later on) & also 2 processors in it too , dont want to give details on the system as yet until its done so far i have used just the deck's remote wire (pioneer 1400dvd) & ran the system for about 2hrs of testing with no signs of problems as yet but i'm wondering if i'm "straining" the deck's rem wire power or if i shouldnt be using just that alone i dont want to use 12v from the batt with a switch to turn the amps on since yrs ago when i tried that i notice u get unwanted noise coming through the speakers -
cool man once u all can do it there will be ppl to support the amps

how about instead SSA getting into the amp business with their own line of SSA amps but seriously they shud do this

Underpowering isn't bad, as long as the signal is clean. The tendency of people to up the gain to make up for lack of power is where trouble comes in... yep ur absolutely correct , that is what i was getting at
-
why choose a amp that will underpower it though ?

aw that sux but shit happens sometimes

little help (pick a deck)
SPL_Man replied to TheHammer's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
have own or played around with jvc , kenwood , clarion , eclipse & alpine but i keep going back to pioneer since they always have alot of features for the $ & is very hard to beat , for ease of accessing those features imho they are on top too that 80prs is about the very best they made so far besides the much more expensive 99prs recently got a pioneer 4400dvd & its a sweet ass deck lol -
