Crossfire Vr1000d Vs PPi Dcx 1000d
Lord Baccus replied to Lord Baccus's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
as far as Sq gos the PPi wins Hands down as it has more control over the Freq: and has better crossovers as far as Power so far the PPi is winning as far as just lisenning to it but to be fair im going to break out the Dmm and set the output AC voltage to 44.7v and give em both another runn -
Crossfire Vr1000d Vs PPi Dcx 1000d
Lord Baccus posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i did a test to see which amp was harder hitting i ran the Crossfire Vr 1000d @ 2ohm through my PaP 15" MOAB = 500watts i ran the PPi Dcx 1000d @ 2ohm through my PaP 15" MOAB = 500watts i set the gain on both amps @ 1/2 or center or Noon... all settings on HU were left as Daily, subs crossed to 100Hz & down / 0gain or flat the Crossfire was weak to say the least... had to crank the HU to 25 to get any thing to shake the PPi on the other hand was Dominant as i only got to 8 on the HU and noticed the stuff on my walls in my guradge was shaking @ 12 on the HU the bass was well above pounding... the Crossfire Vr 1000d got guess ill put it in my Girlfriends truck on a single 10" under her seat... the box was 5.6cf gross 4.5cf after displacement ported @ 43Hz... inside is completely FG.... gold board is the PPi Dcx 1000.1 blue board is the Crossfire Vr 1000.1 -
when i have the motor running, & i turn off the system the Planet Audio TT850d makes a pop through the subs !!! ??? i sent it in to get it fixxed and they said they swapped out the board and sent it back so i hook it up and it lasted for about 1 day befor it started the POP thing agine.... so iv tried different amps and NONE of them POP when i turn off the system i.e. ( PPi / JL Audio / Mtx / Hifonics ) !!! any one have a clue as to why the PA Amp pops @ shut down ??? iv tried different ground locations, re-ran the remote w/ new wire, re-grounded the Kenwood & Kove, cant seem to get the amp to quit making a pop when i turn it off.... oh ya it does NOT pop if the motor is NOT running ??? vlotage w/ motor running 14.60v vlotage w/ motor not running 12.85v !!!!!

need to know what sub modle you are using and T/S info, also will need to know the external dimentions of where you intend to put the box so we get a good fit and also dont forget to measure the trunk opening so it will go in after its built ! a lot of people forget this and cant get the box in the trunk after its built i am using Bas Box Pro 6 let me know if i can help this is a pic of my last build 8.03cf @ 40Hz after displacement of subs & ports -
i use a pair of Planet Audio P6 comps and they are "crisp & clear" also they are rated @ 100rms and i am using a PPi 4800 to drive em @ 2ohm putting 200watts rms to them and they are flawless for 80.oo i would put em aginst Mb Quarts or Focal anyday bang for the buck well worth it

i swear i can never make up my mind...
Lord Baccus replied to bobby_7's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
sealed will have better power handaling & wider range of Freq: response if ya wanna go Low ill need the T/S to help design you a box i figure the average air space for a 10" is 0.5cf to as much as 1.5cf so if you want lower notes go for a larger box ! let me know if i can help -
What competition assocation do you prefer???
Lord Baccus replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Usaci quit comming anywhere near Dallas Tx so all i have to choose from is SLAP and it was sooooooooooooooo Rigged to make the Tweeter installs stand out ! they were winning prizes for cars that had amps sitting on the ground and never entered a lane !?!?!?!?!?!??? oh well i wish Usaci would come to Dallas or Iasca as i would have a fair chance there -
if you need someone that can build a Killer box for ya try Phil @ http://www.woodlawncabinetry.com/ tell him LB sent ya hes a great guy !!! & remember to measure the trunk opening so the box will go into your car after its built a lot of people forget that

whats a ( Mag or 2 CVs ) ??? i am working on getting a 5.5cf built @ 35Hz
-
Ill be there with a Pounding @ss 850watts this time its a lot better than the Jl 500/1 Your KungFu is No Good Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
-
I agree 1000watts pushing a sub in a 2.5cf @ 40Hz shloud make you very happy in a car that small ! but make sure the sub you get will take 1000 rms and remember that the AC mics like notes around 60Hz so dont start to low like i did i use the SoundStream T4 15" x2 ea will take 1000 rms w/ dual 1ohm coils
