i guess ill be the 1st to ask the question that gets me banned off of the uSck forum. are you going to be running Nornal events or are you going to make them 3pointers and tripple the entry fee ? RR was mad cuss we/I begged for an event in the area and they did 1 last yr and did the Tripple point / tripple entery fee and lil or noone was intrested. and all of the events were labled as DALLAS TX ? but nowhere neer the city limits... usually 80mi from Dallas to be exact. not starting crap just want to know where you stand in all of this. oh and welcome to D/Fw

how is it done ? what am i suppose to do with the crossovers for ea. set of mids ? tweeters ? is there a diagram?

Please do go on ??? feel free to explain why i cant do this ? as iv tested it and it seems to work... if i do the math and say i come up with 54Hz ! and then i build the box / port it / meter it amazingly enuff i get 54Hz on a TL mic ??? 1x 15" sub doing a 151.7db temp gos up i go down 2hz ! do you have a better way to do it ? did the math in lil Jeff car and got a 151.3db with a 12" sub !!! beating guys with way bigger & more subs subs & amps, not to mention the calcellation guess i just got lucky ? and did not have to use a 4th order banpass to do it !

well said, why Kicker for Spl ? not the best for what your trying to do... CVRs burn way to easy / the CVXs break off where the cone meets the coil if you over power it... as for common chamber build a deviding wall between the subs the depth of the sub to help loading the port... hitts harder that way without devideing walls with 4x 15" SS T4s did a 149.3db added walls did a 154.1db i.e. without with

What does it take to run .5ohms

WELL SAID -
I watched the loudest vehicle I have ever layed my hands on, and also the best sounding vehicle I have ever had the pleasure of helping with being built in the same garage / driveway , by the same people, at the same time. The two sides of the sport can and do co-exist peacefully. The key to harmony is knowing that both systems are complete polar opposites of each other. But in the end, both were created to do the same thing. Make people listen and say "...........damn"

1. turn the gain all the way down / to start with 2. lots of power 3. creep up on the gain wile burping, if you smell the coil back off the gain.... -
not going to happen in his car with 1 sub & power being used , res freq of car does not allow for Low freq / High Spl # need 3x the power & much more box & sub SD and still not going to get as High as the Higher Freq box...
-
Even not taking into account what the vehicle's transfer function does, the flattest response isn't going to come ported... please expand on this !!! i know how to figure out the Res Freq of a car and tune the boxx accounting for cabin gain, but this is new to me Perhaps playing with your beloved BBP6 might give you some insight... I am curious as to what method you use to calculate the resonant frequency of a car. measure from the cone of the sub to where the TL mic is going to be placed / convert inchs to feet / x4 to get the 1/4 wave or street beat # in Hz / x2 for the Spl # in Hz // devide that into the speed of sound ( 1131 ) = x accounting for cabin gain / build & port box to peek @ said # no accounting for Temp & humidity Hz # will go down when temp is high

thats what i did to get Jeff his 151.3db i did the math and came up with 70Hz taking into account the 36Hz box peeked @ 46Hz i factered that into the math and ported the box @ 60Hz, assumming it would peek out @ 70Hz. dident account for temprature being 85 degrees.. so it was down his note was 64Hz Sunday

i can say anyone still using an older AC mic is lame... lil Jeff # Trophy Jeff standing Proxy for Me i had to leave early
-
ahhhhhhhhh this explains why everyone i asked about RTA sad it sounded like Caca even tho the Meter said it was Flat... i know when i build a box for music i port it @ the Fs of the cone and get the flatist responce cruve in Bbp6 and the subs readlly preform well in that boxx
-
They have an omnidirectional measurement mic that's on a stand, you put it on the driver's seat so it's relatively at ear height...pink noise is played, which has an equal amount of energy per octave so ideally if the response of the system is flat, the RTA won't register any peaks or valleys. That's usually how RTA scores are graded. Wow thats really cool i did not know that. so having a flat responce is better for lisening ? SQ

I cant reveal that as i am Sponsored... But i can tell you that Pap Pound for Pound Watt for watt Dollar for Dollar is one of the best sub Co. out there not to mention they are Great People. i called this idea for this sub a week ago and its SHIPPED / on its way to me as i type this responce... no waiting for back logg and other excuses... they just "Get Er Done" Side by side with a standard 15" 2x laminated dust cover Motor 4x spiders and t-leads

what show judges SPL by Ear ???
-
So how is the judging done with the meter ? what is the Judge looking for ?
-
SPL by ear ??? not us !!! we use a Term Lab Pro, iv never seen anyone judge SPL by ear !!! Wow as for the question i was reffering to SQ being judged by a Meter Vs Ear ???
-
I think the real question is where was the meter if it was done outlaw its no wonder the scores were so good we are forbidden from calling it OutLaw as USu@k has a copyright on the WORD... we call it Bass Wars
-
M5/// : you make a very good point. i am a weekend SPL Nut... btu during the week i have a different box & sub for lisenning to music on, so i swapp boxxs - fade the sub volume down using my Kove Audio Aphex AX1 signal processor, and let the sub blend in with the rest of the music trying to have a lil SQ during the week Yjblitz : you make a Great point... we have a lil Italian resturant in Dallas ! when you walk in theres a sign that says "BE NICE or GET OUT"

box is 2cf after displacement

Much Thanks to Doug B for comming through with the Areoports @ the last Min FTW Doug Rulzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

??? i have no idea what you mean by ear ??? im not an SQ guy is there a meter for SQ ??? you should have come out it was a Huge Show, way more cars than the USuck shows... and we get to eat @ Hooters after Jim ( a member here @ SSA ) came out and had a Great time... you missed a Great Show...
-
well said i hope to prove one day that an SPL setup can sound descent as a daily driver will most likely never archive the total nirvana of SQ but will be close enuff to fool the regular lisener... anyway i think we all understand what i was driving @ thank yall for your understanding H@ll maybe even get the SQ guys too put a lil more Bass in there lives < just joking !!!
