Calling Arizona!! SQ/SPL In Prescott Valley July 14th
Mark LaFountain replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Team SSA
absolutley, also bring the entire ICON line up to show off. Are you showing up for sure? we are leaving from my place in a convoy at 9am -
let me know what deck you're looking for, chances are I can get it for you at a great price right here in Phoenix.
-
you can't bottom our sub out! there's a 1/2" gab between the back plate. You can try though.
-
you should double your amps output wiring it like this.
-
As far as I know, yeah. I have the positive wire running to the left VC, and the negative wire running to the right VC on the sub. From that I have a connecting wire going from one negative to the other and same for the positive. Is that the right way? I must not be hearing distortion... is it a really noticeable sound, or does it take a trained ear? that's exactly why I think it's underpowered. It already shakes my rear-view mirror and my driver's side mirror, so I figured that was all it would do... -John I think we just found your problem, sounds like it's wired in series which would put you at a 4ohm load. You'll want to wire the sub in series, meaning, send the (+)(-) from the amp to one coil, then just jump (+)(+) & (-)(-), ii'll find you a diagram, one sec...
-
seems it's not getting enough power for some reason, doesn't really look like it's being pushed enough (unless your camara has a bad frames/second), I would double check the polarity of the sub and make sure thats right. I'll be taking new video's of them soon, now that their fully broken in. also the video with the 10" ICON was being run by a RF BD500.1 which is half the amp you have, so i'm not thinkn it's the power you have going to it. I am assuming you have it wired at 1ohm? This sub was also brand new when we shot the video for it, maybe the 2nd time it was ever played.
-
well i guess the db our sub posted with two extremly stif spiders is the end all be all of the ICON. Who knew
-
YES! I have them, they're up on the shop, if you have an specific model in mind let me know. YES, they are a pain in the A$$ to install. If you've never done one, this is deff something you should pay someone to do.

7900 Has more features I would imagine, mainly it's got a two way pager with color screen. First of it's kind. Not sure about if adding a starter makes it go bad faster. I'ver never personally owned a starter. I'll let you know though, i'll be buying a 7900 soon I think.

i'm going to a show in upstate AZ the weekend of the 14th, i'll have to get my set up on the mic. not expecting big things just because it's tuned to 35hz, but should be interesting to see what it will do at that tuning...

I'm seriously thinkn about organizing and having a few shows here in AZ in the cooler months like aug, sept, oct..there's no dbdrag anywhere down here, and i've spoke with wayne harris about it, he thinks it's a great idea since there's nthing in a 200 mile radius for this. what are your thoughts? also this would mean getting a team together in this area.
-
can you get me a map? My setup is desinged for st bump, so probably won't do the best numbers, but will be fun for sure.
-
it feels like christmas around here now! Do you have a time frame in mind for the review? When we can see it? If it's anyhting like your maw v. rd review, it'll be a great write up.
