BL's are for ported applications. Your probably going to need to use aero ports because they take up much less displacement than a regular slot port does. those dimensions alone with .75 wood will give you about 5.8 cuft. But thats not even with subs and aero displacements. You could always send it back and pay for a recone, and recone it to 15". That way you will have space.

You never mentioned what your goals were, your musical preferences, or space requirements. No one can give you an accurate recommendation without that information. We can take a guess what it is your after running that sort of power but that is vital information to include in a thread like this. I personally doubt you'll find a pair of subs that will take that kind of power and use it well. Anything you find with that budget will likely dissapoint, but without your goals I can't say for sure. Stefan gave you some great advice. Save up for what you really want. Its worth the wait.

Lol yeah I must agree, your goals are backwards? I mean, why would you want people to know where to get their next setup? Plus, that simply means your either a) loosing pressure or b) loosing the sound, You want everything inside as much as possible. You should have read the recommendations for box sizing before you clicked check out to be honest with you man. Now, your going to have to sacrifice some space to get that subwoofer working properly, it is not good to sufficate a subwoofer. Maybe try some aero ports, and fiberglassing the inside. When I hear the term dirty bass vs clean bass, I think of nice setup that I can actually enjoy, when I think of dirty bass, I think of just shit rattling every where out of control with some idiot not knowing anything but thinking bigger is better and dadadadada...daddadad /rant Your goal should be to keep as much sound inside the cabin as possible, because it is you that is listening to it, not joe dirt that is going around your neighborhood looking for his next victim. If you so chose to want to be hear by strangers and even more important, your "friends", then just roll down your windows. Just my .02

Well the wire is good stuff. I would still have the alt bench tested. Again not that I doubt DC (hell I run their product) and I'm definitely not saying they don't know their sh*t or anything like that. I don't want to be misunderstood here. It's just that sometimes weird things happen. Seeing his post saying that he doesn't understand why your having the issue (and I don't either) would prompt me to do it as a just in case. And maybe try throwing the smaller pulley back on just to see the result? I'm just throwing ideas out there for the proccess of elimination.

I was having belt slip issues, or so we thought. Voltage is more steady now since changing pulleys and my wiring changes. But voltage will bounce from 13.6ish to 15.3 occasionally, I have a feeling this is on clipped songs that are boosted to high in recording (decaf and shizzon tracks). I do not think I need another battery, I hope not. Maybe another set of 1/0 runs? I posted in the XS Power subsection to get Nathan's advice too. So 13.6. So where you actually having belt slip issues or was that just a theory? As I said before you can try a dedicated run straight from the alt to the rear batt and I'm sure that would help. What kind of wire are you using? I'm not saying anything bad about DC but have you had the alt load tested to see if the output is what it should be? If it's putting out like it should then this is just plain odd.

I ran a saz1500d with a 270xp and no additional batteries, at full tilt at idle, voltage was mid 14. Hope you get it figured out Edouble

Here's my build log from the other forum. Towards the end of it there's a video showing the voltage at both 1500 rpms and at idle (with the system at full tilt). Feel free to make fun of my country ass accent lol. But it's a good example of what these alts can put out. http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/build-logs/71046-tremonics-build-log.html

I have a lot of wire and 5 D3100's total (one under hood and 4 in back) which is overkill for what I have now but it's really for future plans. The fact is, is I never even see batt voltage right now because the alt doesn't let it get that low. I only drop to 13.9 periodically when it's 100 degrees outside. If it's not a really hot day I don't drop below 14.2. These are some seriously strong alts.

Funny you ask, I wondered the same. I down shifted and rpms were plus 4k and voltage was the same. I am going to redo some connections this afternoon(not that any connections appear incorrect). I will post pics of what my wiring is after. I have a feeling I need a direct ground from alt to battery. There really isn't anything else it could be imo but I will look. Thanks Kyle. For what it's worth I have an SAZ4500 on one 270XP with no direct alt to batt ground and I don't drop below 13.9. I have a second alt but don't have the bracket to put it on yet so I'm currently running off of one.

You can contact FI and get the sub reconed to a 15" driver, that's what I would do. IIRC its not a lot of money. What way is your sub and port facing? Have you tried folding the rear seats down? On a side note, when i'm on full tilt at a red light everybody seems to enjoy it watching my truck flex. Just depends on what side of town you're on
