My truck subwoofer box...

Recommended Posts

Heres some pictures of my current work in progress. It is a downward firing, (port to the side, might build another one with port up too) for behind the seat in an Ext. Cab 89 S-10. A DD 1008 is going in it powered by my USA-300 and my epicenter if I get around to hooking it up. This box was/is built for taking up a minimal amout of space and because I have this stuff laying around doing nothing. The box is around .8 cubes tuned to 40hz.

On with the pictures

Its DD's reccomended box, so I said what the hell, why not? I'm not sure on how its gonna work, but for a 30 dollar sub, 20 dollar plywood, and a 17 dollar amp, I won't be outmuch if it all fails.

Yea, it'll prob be 'stone paint.

I am sure it won't fail in its purpose of making bass, but my goal is never to just make bass though. :coolugh:

This is my for chits and giggles try to break something build. Wanted a project to do over spring break and came up with this. If it works out and the box turns out halfway decent I'll probably just try to sell it and make a little bit of money. If I don't like it, it'll go into my growing pile of old projects.

Didn't mean to make it sound like I was getting all defensive, its just that I've had better weeks.

No new pics, but only one side left to glue on and then its time for a flushcut router bit, my new custom circle jig and my plunge router and the construction will be done. Picked up some fleckstone paint in walmart today, never used it before but thats some pretty nifty paint. Dang is it expensive though.

Work and school mostly.

On a brighter note, might be able to get the box done today, primer it tonight and paint it tommorow. I've still got to run power/gnd wires in my truck though. I hate running wires.
