Soundsplinter vs Alpine

Recommended Posts

Hey at other forums i have been told to get a Rl-p15 powered by a Hifonics Brutus amp. I was wondering how 2 Alpine Type R 12s would compare to one Rl-p15? Any help?

probably the 12's if you're talking about the new type-r's and just spl. sq, well i havent heard the type-r's but my rl-p 12's are probably the most accurate, musical subs i've ever heard, and still get really loud.

i'd say if you ported that 15 it would probably outslam those 12's if they were sealed.

Alright thanks. Ya i was told to port the 15 but i wasnt told that it would hit any harder. thanks for the comment. What you think about 2 Perfects in a bandpass box. They said it will be louder but not with the sq. Im lookin for somethin to replace my Pl2-212 system and something that hits harder than my friends 2 Audiobahn Aw1206t subs in a sealed box powered by 2 A8000ts. What ya think i should get to outpower his out of my options?

Bandpass, unless taken the time to design properly, sounds like ass.

I like Type R 12's, but they do not sound as good as the Soundsplinter. The Perfects would be IMO the bottom feeder of the three choices.

1) Soundsplinter Rl-p 15 (ported)

2) 2- Alpine Type R 12" (sealed, unless you have alot of space)

3) 2- Infinity Perfect 12"

hi shawn, welcome to the site,

I can reccomend the RL-p for sure, but I am not as big a fan of HiFonics as some other members are

Cone area. Get a bit louder, but that all depends on the install/enclosure (comparing a 12" SS w/ 12" Type R)

Alright thanks. Any recomendations for a better amp at price of 250 and under (ebay). So in what ways would the Alpines be better than the Rl-p15?

Orion 1200D from HCCAfan,

check for sale section on here

Ok. I will. I went to ebay and they have a Refurbed one for 209 and it comes with a 90 **** warranty. So would that Refurbed Orion be better than that Hifonics amp with a 1 year warranty for 30 bucks cheaper?

Alright thanks. By the way is there any other 15s that yall prefer over the Rl-p15 thats cheaper?

for the money,

it is very hard to beat the performance and customer service of soundsplinter,

you could also look into Incriminator Audio LI's

Ok cool. Do you know where i could find there website? And what system do you got in your vehicle and how many decibls do you hit?

you can talk to mike directly here in the SoundSplinter forum a few sections lower than this one, or email [email protected] or go to soundsplinter.com ,

and my system is in constant transition, but I am not building for SPL to hit high numbers with my RL-p, its home is a 2.0 cube box tuned to 27-29hz, and it is awaiting an Orion 8002
