Neg batt to neg post on the amp??!!! WTF ?

I thought the neg batt should grounded to the frame of the car.

And the - on the amp to the frame too for a good ground.

Be careful. You seem to do it bad. :(

Negative from battery to the amp is fine. That may be the lowest resistance option.

Try hooking up a cd player or ipod to your amp and see if it exhibits the same behavior.

I did not know that! Sorry.

The only reason for grounding in the back near the amp is to minimize wire length and possible resistance. Remember that the negative terminal of the battery is grounded to the car's frame, and so is the metal you're grounding the amp to.
