And bandpassed they can take some serious power. Of course, I'd still argue that imrpoving the enclosure is an easier way of livening up the bottom end. Aside from increasing volume, possibly aperiodic? Start with an enclosure. Was that a jab at me for having them in the doors? No way I'm trying door pods or kicks in the crossfire, there's just not enough room to work with. I want some headroom as I have to push the belle a little more than I'd like for normal listening levels. And on that note, there's a fucking 7547 on ebay right now, brand new for $220. I wish I could justify spending that right now.

While I don't agree with universal healthcare I also don't agree with our current system. I think it's absurd that we pretend like our healthcare system isn't just as corrupt as our political one. If we were to address these issues I think we could promote a healthcare system that evolves to be universal, but isn't required to be.

thanks for the heads up, i'm smacking myself over letting the 2100g slip away.

What do you have in mind? whatever I can get the best deal on! was watching the Sony ES's on CA and DIY, always wanted to try the 2100g but I missed out on them. May try to find a LP that isn't outrageously priced but I don't see that happening.

You'll have to try many many combinations of crossover points, that depends on the install as well as the drivers. That's why doing a 3-way frontstage can be extremely complicated and overwhelming. Both options of 2k/1.5k are completely possible, it's not crazy to end up with something like tweets at 3khz and Woofers at 2khz either, the points don't have to be the same. Out of those three Vifa's I have no experience directly with any but I'd double check to make sure they all perform admirably down to at least 2k since you may be crossing that low. This is where my only real problem with your speaker choices comes in. Your old door speakers were bottoming out before they should have, so you're upgrading to a speaker which is oriented more towards the lower spectrum. What I'm afraid you're going to end up with is the Anarchy's in your door not performing as they should on the lower end combined with the new lull in the 2khz region from the lack of extension from the anarchy's. If you find a door speaker that goes up to 3-4khz and still performs admirably down to 60hz I think you'll be far happier in the end.

negative, completely forgot to look

I'm heavily debating putting more power on my mids, the belle is only 75W@4ohm and the P18s are 8ohm

what were you doing?

WOW if it comes to that for me shit will hit the fan and god only knows what else. I am realist. I know what I was up to at that age. Me as well, I lost my virginity at 15, to my 14 year old girlfriend You guys started young or I started late. i was late as well, but it was by my choice. I was bill clinton close a few times at ~13 but ended up waiting until I was 18. In hindsight I'm not sure if it really made a difference in me either way.

is the VNT for a diesel? I love turbos but fuck VNT's all to hell, that is unless they are more trouble free than the ones in the 80's FWD dodges.

I ALWAYS build the foundation first, but what would better suit you now? after getting the xfire stuck about a dozen times in the snow, I'd fucking kill for a LSD or some LSD.

Not a bad driver, but if you want similar performance for quite a bit less, but this. http://gr-research.c...165xwoofer.aspx I hadn't seen either of those, i'm not in need of woofers at all but they both seem like killer deals for the performance they're offering. I was just hoping to hear that they are worth a damn and not just using XBL on a shitty speaker to sell it.

My $.02 Your door install is lacking, switching speakers won't help this. A new install may remedy the problem but I wouldn't bother swapping out the speakers until you can at least determine what was holding them back. I feel like you're undertaking a very large and potentially disappointing project when a small amount of work may prove more fruitful. About going 4-way active with the pioneer, yes I believe the way you have it listed will work but I'm not familiar with the 1100.4; the 1000c4's LPF only goes up to 250hz not the 300hz you'd need (splitting hairs but it could prove to be a problem). If you have room in your dash for a 4" speaker I'd heavily consider putting a full range in and using that to cover the majority of your spectrum, properly installed you should be able to cover everything from <1khz to 20khz without issue. Two full range examples that I have zero experience with: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-847 http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-2-fullrange/vifa-ne85w-2.5-fullrange-driver-4-ohm/

Reducers
vladd replied to Brett_the_Vandal's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
This is why I love distro blocks, I've never felt comfortable using the "reducers", I feel as though they don't get adequate contact. Just use a distro and accomplish the same thing with benefits(though more $$). -
The worst is when I'm sitting with my legs folded and unfold them only to trap that one traveling testicle half under my thigh.

Fairly cheap too, http://www.europe-au...Product_ID=3384 Correct model? I still haven't decided if I want to keep using kick panels (space issue for feet sort of), or cut the lower third of my door panels, and mount my drivers there. What type of tuning tracks are you looking for? Demo songs for instruments, vocals? Or tracks for testing imaging, tonal accuracy, etc? I have some focal JMlab tracks albums: demo disc 1 & 3, and tools cd. "IASCA - IASCA Setup & Test Disc 1997" "The Sheffield-Autosound2K Test Disc (CD 102 Imaging & Setup)" "IASCA official SQ cd 2001-2002" I just needed some basics and found a few old CD's I had stashed here luckily. I would definitely like to have the sheffield disc and iasca 2001/2, esp if you have the notes too.

no experience with the HDS but I used the Seas 27TDFC and they were great tweets but just didn't come close to the morels. I compared the seas to the morel in the stratus back to back and the morel was definitely an all around more pleasing tweet for me. Of course that was only about 3 years ago so I can't remember any specifics.

After something like 3 years I finally got to listen to the crossfire(frontstage only, no subs) don't know if I ever posted that. It has immense sound treatments, and it really shows. I have the amp installed poorly at the moment because I can't find a good spot for a ground in the trunk (gas tank is in the way). For anyone interested. I've got the Big Belle hooked up 4ch right now (subs are still far away from being installed). The doors house Seas P18's and I have morel MDT29s laying on the dash for now. The P18s extend lower than I would have ever expected. I have them crossed at 31.5hz right now with no issues though I'm not sure I'm getting much output below 40hz (haven't done any hardcore tuning/testing yet). The Tweeters....I wish I could say enough good things about these damn tweets. I've listened to a fair number of 3/4" and 1" tweets both large and small format in my day and I still prefer these tweets, and that's about all I have to say about that. I Desperately need some tuning tracks!!!! Obviously I would love to find some from certain SQ competitions, cough cough.

They've been working on it for awhile. It looks different every time I see it. At one point I think it was going to be under the Scion name. It has the potential to be pretty cool I guess. I thought the scion was supposed to be a separate but similar car? *quick google search says no, you're right, going to be the same car under two different names. I hate when they do that shit.

Depends, really. If you are seriously lifting it doesn't matter if you are eating shit or good food, as long as you get the proper caloric intake. For my needs, with my size, I have to have a rough intake of about 3500 calories a day. If I ate healthy all the time I would have to eat an entire chicken coop to get the calories I need. I eat 1000 calories of crap a day. Now if you are going for show cut, the right food is more important. But most of us are not doing shows, and most of us cannot eat enough good food to reach the ideal caloric intake. I agree to an extent, the main thing is if you're seriously lifting you simply have a larger buffer for how much crap calories you can have. You'll be burning more on the daily so a larger portion of your daily calories go directly to supplying energy. It's the calories that aren't used for energy that matter. The leftover portion is where your diet truly pays off. You need a balance of proper fats, carbs and proteins here to build, repair and maintain properly, without them your results will suffer, regardless of how hard you train. Your body is a machine and if you fill it with crap fuel you will get lesser results. This can be from psychological and physiological responses to the crap fuel. If you don't trust me try switching your diet to crap and try to continue your regimen. Switch to say, 60% fat calories, 5% protein and 35% carbs. Not only did you inherently increase your caloric intake but you've also minimized your protein and carb intake which is where you should be getting your energy from. You'll also cause your body to start breaking down muscle as a source of protein if you've gained any extra muscle mass.
