Happy birthday !
-
Welcome to the forum ! What a first post ! Good luck ! But without a budget...
-
I received my SSA tweeters today: so happy ( no tax at all).

If you run components you don't need a DSP. And you can have as much sets you want ! If you run a DSP each speaker should be on its own channel : so 2 mids and 2 tweeters on your 4 ch amp, or mids on 2 channels and tweeters on the 2 others.

SSA Evil 1 (first SSA tweeter)

Me too, as I just got mine ! -
Component possibly dead? Need replacement
Notorious97200 replied to leon's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If you have 2 Ohms speakers, your amplifier will see that impedance, no need to have a "special wiring" ! 2 x 100 is plenty for front speakers, you don't need to run 200 w to sound good and be loud. Good luck with your current comp set. I hope it's still working. -
Already installed and tested ? I'm waiting for the first review for those SSA tweeters. (Mine are on their way...°

Or just get an external dsp : no need to use anything else. But you'll need 4 channels of amplification. That is what I did, from M5 advice.

Which 12" Subwoofer / What direction to fire sub?

Why not ? A little more cash, and you can get a brand new Icon, or maybe a used one ? -
Which 12" Subwoofer / What direction to fire sub?
Notorious97200 replied to leon's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
A single 12 in a big car, you'd better run it ported If you want to play with box placement, try sub and port on the same side and have fun ! -
A 12" sub should work with that space. You don't need 3 cu ft net for it, maybe 1.5 to 2 ? Check the box recommendation on the SSA sub forum. Everything is listed. You can find cut sheets for a good box there.

I understand ! Right choice, then !

I've just ordered one pair. I think it's the first time I buy something on pre-order....I'll cross my fingers...
-
We're on the SSA forum ---->EVIL for sure ! But why do you want to run at 0.5 ?
-
We have a few AMG here, but none of them has aftermarket sound system ! I love those cars. Luxury, confort, speed,... Congratulations for the head unit integration !!

3 cu ft just for the box ? That's enough room to run bigger sub(s).

Questions about small SUV sub/port placement..
Notorious97200 replied to jones82joshua's topic in General Audio
I have a small SUV : a MAzda CX-5. I have port firing back, on the (driver) side of the box. It's my second box like that. When I managed to pull the box onto the rear seats, to leave much more room between the port and the hatch, the sound was better : more output, more lows,... But you're right : the more output, the more rattles on the hatch, or anywhere in the car ! It's a never ending story !- 1 reply

I run an Incriminator 3.4 : 4 x 65 w at 4 Ohms. But I have a pair of 8 Ohms mids on 2 channels, and a pair of tweets on the 2 other. It's loud enough, but someday I will get a more powerful amp, like a 4 x 100 or 4 x 150. Even if I know it's not really necessary. The SSA amps are coming soon...Take a look. I am lurking the 4 ch class D.

Sorry to read that. Hope you'll find something good.

Fi makes amazing products, but it's hard (very hard, painful) to contact them. SSA : those guys don't sleep. They answer your emails at anytime !!! customer service at its finest !!! And they also makes amazing products. Get you some Evils, and have fun !

Welcome to the forum ! If you need 25 comments to post, do you think you can sell before that ! Good luck.

If your mids are 4 Ohms, you won't play at 2 ! It's unnecessary. I was worried about the loos of power from going to a 4 Ohms set, to an 8 Ohms one, but it was a mistake : less power, but absolutely no loss in output, with the new speakers ! You're in good hands here, with M5. Just do what he says ! Get a mini dsp and a 4 channels amp. Keep the ssa mids, and your current tweeters until the SSA ones (I'm waiting for them too) come out. It's what I did in my car, and I love it ! The mini dsp is easy to use. I set the crossovers a few time, and a few weeks later, I used the Time Alignment settings : it's amazing !!!

Get the 2000 !

I love those kick panels. Usually I'm not a big fan of kicks, because I'm tall and our cars are manual (not automatic gear...). Nice work. Those VW are tiny but they still and always look cool.
