WTT - Fi BL 15" and RF T-1000bd

Up for trade is my (original owner) 2010 15" Fi BL and my Rockford Fosgate T-1000bd. Both 10/10 working condition. Sub is 9/10 cosmetically and the amplifiers cosmetics are a 8/10. My next install is SQ oriented so I would trade for: Sundown E/SA, Fi Q, SSA D/G/Icon, etc. (Something that can perform sealed andcash can be mixed in with trade.) The amplifier traded for something in the 600rms-800rms range or a solid 4-channel. Im downsizing my setup so almost anything is on the table for a possible trade. Ill listen to any offers.

    Who use SSA subs?

    Xcon 12" for me!
  3. I need an amplifier to power my D1 12" Xcon. It was running off of my Rf T-1000bd at around ~750 watts and it sounded absolutely eargasmic... and then I shorted my amplifier. So now I have two choices: Fix the T1000 for $175 and stay at ~750 watt or buy something along the lines of this http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/hifonicsbrz17001d.aspx It may seem obvious to go with the Hifonics because of the obvious difference in power, but it seems like Hifonics isn't the most recommended brand. 1200w @ 2 ohm for $190 just seems to good to be true. What would you recommend I do? If you have any other amplifier suggestions then feel free to throw them out there. I really wouldn't like to spend over $220 since i'm perfectly fine running the Xcon with the T1000. It was enough for me but the Xcon was hungry for more! 4. I ended up buying a T1500-bd off of craigslist for $240 a few hours ago. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
  5. If you do let the person know it's broken. Definitely. I bought a T800-4ad off of craigslist for $200 last week and it ended up being broken. Luckily I sold it broken for $225 on ebay yesterday and made my money back, but I was absolutely livid knowing that he scammed me.
  6. I got it for $265! So twice the power as my T-1000 for $100 more and a newer model. I'm sure the Xcon will love it. What should I do with my T-1000 though? Sell it broken?
  7. Good luck as it says right there on the post "no offers under $300". Perhaps $250 plus trade might work out in your favor. He's down to $275. He has a few other sale threads that are over a month old. I'm hoping he's just getting fed up with selling and will let it go for cheap. I might go to $260 see if he'll take the bait. "$260 And I'll pick it up to day! CASHHH!" usually works lol.
  8. Okay, I most likely will. I'm going to try and get this guy http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/ele/4068064839.html down to $250. There has to be an audible difference between 750w and 1500w. It says it does 1500w @ 1 or 2 ohm, and I guess I trust it because it's Rockford. If I can do that, then I think it will definitely be worth the extra money.
  9. Suggestions? I'll spend up to $240 if it'll give me an audible difference in comparison to my T-1000. I can always repair it for $175.
  10. So there's not really not an audible difference between 750w and 1200w? (if the rms of the hifonics is legitimate)? What are some other alternatives? I would spend up to $240 on something that would make an audible difference.
  11. Anybone have experience with the Hifonics amps?
  12. Yes, it is a Dual 1. If the mmats are affordable then that would definitely be doable. I can't seem to find any specs or online merchants that sell them though. What would they be putting out at 2 ohms and how much would they cost? I wouldn't mind running them at .5 ohm but I don't want to take the chance of ruining the amp.
  13. It's ported. Around ~3.5^3 tuned to 31 Hz. Can't remember the dimensions exactly but it was built by Bassink. It's a BIG box.

    I almost feel guilty

I know there used to be a craigslist thread somewhere but I can't find it so i'm putting this here. I figured you guys would appreciate these deals. http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/ele/3980453959.html Is this real life? Zcon - $300 T-1500bdcp - $200 T 800-4 - $200 I'm buying the 800-4 from him tomorrow but the price on it makes me feel like this is some craigslist killer trap

    I almost feel guilty

In another thread I was told to measure AC voltage from the rear rca inputs. He said the voltage should dance with the music. The same should be true for the rear outputs.
  17. Thanks for your help. Hopefully there will be a positive update.
  18. Am I able to use a DMM to see if the rear channel on my 4 channel amp is working? I've wired it several different ways and i've yet to get anything from the rear side. I'm assuming that there wouldn't be a reading if the channel wasn't working, but I really don't have a clue.

    I almost feel guilty

I would probably send it to rockford or db-r. The guy seems genuine. I really don't think he tried screwing. I have to be doing something wrong. Maybe it's a setting on my head unit? I wouldn't have to turn the rear pre-out on would I? Seems like a useless setting if it exists lol. I'm all out of ideas. Maybe I could skype with one of you more knowledgeable fellas tomorrow and show you what I have set up. I'm going to take a DMM to the rear channel tomorrow and see if i get a reading.
  20. Alright. I'm going through my head unit's manual to see if there is a setting that turns the rear pre-out on and off. I have a Kenwood Excelon x696. Maybe the problem is my head unit.
  21. Thank you for the reply. So hook an rca to the front channel, switch the amp to 4-channel, and put the leads on either the right or left input on the rear side? I'm borrowing the dmm and i've never really had experience with one.

Yeah. my box was right around 16-161/2. I bought it from a friend so idk the exact dimensions. It's going to be destroyed inside my trunk also. I'll have the try that liquid-damp. Did it make a noticeable difference?

The front channel is fine. I just don't know if the rear speaker outputs are the problem or the rear output and rear input. Theres no way to test the rear input by itself. He said that he had it all installed by some car shop. I would've bought the zcon if I could have but it was already sold. He still has the t-1500 bdcp that I want. But I doubt he'll sell the amp to me now because he knows i know he screwed me.

Recommend a good service? I might be able to fix it and still make money on it. It was in some shitty ported box that was around 3.75^3. It sounded great though. I'm trading W140 for his unopened Gcon because I'm moving towards a more sq setup (hence the 4 channel amp). Height was about 16 1/2.I got it in the trunk but it sure as hell ain't coming out. I actually just switched my Grand Prix with a new grand prix lol. I love that car so much.

I'm talking to the guy right now. He said he never had a problem with the rear channel. We'll see how this goes. His speakers worked perfectly fine when he demoed it for me, but I didn't look to see how he had them wired up. I have the 4 speakers wired to only the front channel right now and they all work. Not sure if this is good or bad for the amp or what my ohm load is but its temporary. Would I be able to test the rear channel with a DMM at all? I think it might be the speaker output, since it didnt work when I had the amp switched to 2 channels. I need a definitive way to see if the channel's crap.
