Are there any floor mat brands like weather tech but less friggin expensive ?

I think you need to just take it to a professional mechanic to get an accurate diagnosis. If you are in need of a trustworthy mechanic I can give you the contact info for my dad's shop. I think you'll end up chasing your tail trying to figure this one out on your own.

Fair. Have a lead on a new job in a different industry that I'm REALLY hoping works out. Have an interview with them next week, don't think they are looking to put anyone new on until the 1st of the year but that's cool because I have a decent bonus coming in Nov that I dont get paid if I leave before it pays out.

So my seat belt buckle will randomly release from the receiver. Sometimes it's because I apply slight pressure to the belt (adjusting positions, etc), other times it's because I bump the buckle receiver, other times it just pops loose. Either way I don't think it's going to do much restraining in an accident. And ironically the spring for the button is shot (probably related) and so when I WANT to get out of the car I have to fight with the damn thing with both hands to get it to release. Because my car is so old a replacement seat belt buckle receiver is only available from some vintage car parts place for $118 + tax + shipping. Holy fucksticks. Guess it's time to try the local pick-a-parts.

'Ti's a good amp. The older red ES amps were all solid amps. I'd try to buy it if I were you. Can't help you with price though. -
Lucas will help with things like trans shudder. I'm not familiar with Fords, but if he has some trans clutch shudder and not actual slippage it may help. Worked like a charm in my GM truck to fix it. My dad uses it to fix shudder issues at work. To the OP, keep in mind when you add something like Lucas you need to drain an equivalent amount of fluid out so you aren't overfilling the fluid when you add the Lucas. As to the OP, most trans shops especially the larger regional names (Summit Transmission, etc) will offer financing since the majority of people don't have enough spare cash on hand to pay for an expensive auto repair. You will however have to QUALIFY for that financing, credit and budget wise. If you are seriously in need of help, I work for a finance company locally that has some referral relationships with local auto repair/trans shops. We deal in higher risk customers primarily, so if the credit thing is sketchy for you I can see what shops we have a relationship with as many of the retail finance companies will generally require you to be a reasonably low credit risk.

Calling the Neo Pro's pro audio is being very generous. Sindown (typo, but I kinda like it and am going to keep it) calls them "pro audio" so everyone else followed suit, but really they are bastardized drivers. He used really light soft parts with a stiff suspension to give them that "pro audio" look and Fs. But pro audio drivers notoriously suck in the midbass without a ported enclosure because, well, that's the trade-off to gain efficiency (Hoffmans Law being what it is). Since this feature doesn't sell speakers very well to the car audio market, he weakened the motor to raise the Q to bring some midbass back to the performance. The trade-off here is that efficiency drops back down pretty much to that of a standard driver because of the weak motor. All said and done what the Neo Pro's basically amount to are a standard driver with really shitty T/S parameters (and hence, performance) and no real usefulness, but good sales because they are cashing in on the "pro audio" craze. Moral of the story.....I wouldn't try to fit them into your plans.

Dude, where have you been?! I retired from SSA. Popped in to see what was going on, saw this thread and didn't want to leave the guy hanging if he was looking for help building a box or something.

Xbox 360 S HDD Storage Options
Impious replied to Impious's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
I don't have a hard drive right now. I have the 4gb model, which doesn't have an HDD...it's internal memory is flash. EA won't allow the game to be saved to flash memory, thumb drive or internal. It must be an HDD, which I currently don't have. -
We have a 4gb Xbox 360S. Bought NFS: Rivals for my son. Didn't realize until we tried to play it that it requires 2gb HDD space. It doesn't have 2gb free space and there apparently isn't an HDD installed (the slot on the right side behind the door is empty). Do I have to buy an HDD for this game, or will a USB flash drive work? My concern is that I wasn't sure if flash memory would work with the game or if it had to store the game to an HDD? What is the best/cheapest route to make this and future games work? If I had to buy an HDD, I think it would be better to take the damn game back and buy something else. We've had the Xbox for 3 or 4 years and this is the first time we've had an issue like this. Then again the boy has 1.4gb of space used up for freakin' Minecraft

Xbox 360 S HDD Storage Options
Impious replied to Impious's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
How common of an issue is this? Like I said, this is the first time in 3yrs we've had this issue. Not sure I want to spend $32 (plus wait a month on shipping) just so he can play a $20 game. Might just take it back if we can find another race game he likes for around the same price. -
Xbox 360 S HDD Storage Options
Impious replied to Impious's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
Yes. This is on the EA website, and I've read some forum posts to the same effect; "Need for Speed Rivals on the Xbox 360 requires an Xbox 360 Hard Drive with 3GB of storage space for a mandatory installation of game disc content. you will be prompted to perform this installation the first time time you boot up your game. You cannot play your game without this installation, nor can it be installed on flash memory sticks, or internal flash memory--such as the internal memory of the Xbox 360 Slim, or 4GB model. Hard Drives are available and sold separately for the Xbox 360 Slim/4GB, Arcade, and Core consoles." Guess we'll just take the game back and EA can suck a fat one for this ridiculous programming decision. -

Well that didn't work. I bought a 32gb Sandisk Cruzer Glide at Walmart and it still says "the game only permits installing content on the Xbox360 Hard Drive" -

Hoped so. Would like to be able to just grab a 16gb USB from Walmart and call it a day. -
My first guess would be over excursion, looks like you pushed the cone too far and it pulled out the tinsel leads where they are soldered to the coil leads.

Because you did something wrong. What that was I don't know as I don't have enough info."Gains were properly set" according to who?
-
Because the alcohol dilates your blood vessels, so it makes you feel warmer than you actually are. Interestingly this reduces your body's ability to keep it's core temperature up and regulate that temperature....so while you "feel" warmer your body is actually colder and you are at a higher risk of effects like hypothermia.

To max out XCON or to underpower a ZCON?
Impious replied to slim142's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If you plan on upgrading the electrical and sticking with a single sub system, order the dual 2ohm Zcon and set the gains/sub level conservatively to keep the power output within the limits of the electrical system until the upgrade. That way when you do upgrade the electrical you don't have to worry about buying a new sub. -
Man I totally forgot about the arcade section !! They had a tank game or something that I had the high score for quite a while on. Played that thing for hours to get the high score.

I know this sounds bad, but when my dad dies or gets too old to work on cars I'm screwed. I can handle little shit myself, but major work is outside of my scope of mechanical inclination simply due to my limited experience. Like you I have never paid for labor and ALL of my parts are at cost, no markup at all and often my dad will beat the guys at the part store up even more and get the part BELOW cost.

I got logged in too. Last visit was 9-9-08...LOL SIN was my #2 go to forum for solid info. After ECA. Great group of guys on both forums back in the day
