How to - Secure Speakers and Subwoofers Correctly - T Nuts / Blind Nut
mklett33 posted a topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
In this episode of "Car Audio Fabrication" I share the proper way to utilize T-Nuts in an install. The advantages of T Nuts are as follows: Screws can be removed several times if you need to access the inside of the enclosure with no worry of srtipping or degrading the thread quality (like what would occur with wood screws into wood)More secure mounting, they cannot be pulled loose from the mounting surface as occurs with wood screws.Other notes: Adding a dab of super glue before securing the t nut to the wood can prevent them from falling into the enclosure before installing. Using a size down from the shank of the t nut for your drill hole allows for a tighter squeeze on the nut. Hurricane nuts are also available which "turn" into the mounting surface rather than bite.I hope you guys enjoy! Discuss below and if you enjoy the content Subscribe! ~Mark -

VIDEO - Knukonceptz KNF60 Distribution Block - Car Audio Fabrication F
mklett33 posted a topic in Product Reviews
As you guys well know car audio is an ever changing hobby. You may decide to add an amp to your install, or a secondary battery, and there is nothing more frustrating than having to completely re-do your install just to add an additional electrical component. If you take the time to make fiberglass bezels or beauty panels for your wire distribution the thought of making a change to that distribution is terrifying, as you would then have to redo all of your work. Well now these worries are a thing of the past! Check out my video review of the Knukonceptz KNF60 distribution block. If you would like an additional product reviewed in the future let me know! Fiberglass Amp Rack 101: Build a Custom Fiberglass Mold for Amplifiers
mklett33 posted a topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
What’s up ladies and gentlemen of the car audio world? Today I bring to you the all inclusive Fiberglass Amp Rack 101 Lesson! Allow me to insert my shameless plug and say that if you enjoy any part of this tutorial, or learned something new, please post a comment, rank this thread, and share with your friends! Also I love when I get new subscribers on my YouTube channel! (www.youtube.com/caraudiofabrication ) Other than that let’s review what you will learn shall we? http://youtu.be/YUEUAhttGts Intro: First off I know I know, this looks like a ton of reading, and a ton of work, but it really is not, it just seems that way because I am outlining every thing I have learned over the years of many car audio installations. When I started learning this I would have done ANYTHING for a write up with the tricks and techniques I am going to show you, but it didn’t exist, so again while it might seem like a lot to read it WILL be WELL worth your time to read through this and watch the videos. Note that some of the videos or somewhat of an “update” to my progress within the step, where as others are much more of an actual step by step instruction. The videos have a run time of a little over an hour, so grab a frosty beverage and some food and sit back! That being said there are a million different ways you could construct an amp rack, this tutorial will cover what I have learned and found to be very effective means of building a professional quality amp rack. Note that for the sake of length some sections of this lesson may refer to previous lesson posts I have made, in these cases I will provide a link for you to visit so that you may learn that technique as well! Also note that the quality of my videos improves throughout the series. Please watch all the videos to gain the full experience! In order to watch all of the YouTube videos is one go, please view the YouTube playlist here: Note that each step within this write up also has the video thumbnail, with a link to the video below it. The Process: Before we begin allow me to briefly outline the process that will be covered. By understanding each step involved you are well on your way to an amazing fiberglass amp rack! Designing the Layout Skeleton– The Foundation of your shape and Making TemplatesPrepping Templates and Skeleton for Molding Applying Fabric – The Skin of your shape Glassing and Strength Smoothing and Prep for Finish Adding Plexi and Inserts Wrapping the Amp Rack – Vinyl, Suede, and Carpet Final Thoughts Let’s begin!- 20 replies

Its not SPL as in what you will hear once placed in the car, it doesn't take into effect cabin gain, etc. It is a tool you can use though to compare theoretical performance of two different drivers or different enclosure designs. But with all audio there are about a million factors to account for, WinISD gives you a starting platform.

Yeah kinda what i figured...atleast im breaking even..ill post it right now for $240 and probably get $180-$200 Yeah man it will be hit or miss. If you can find someone that could really use it you will be able to sell it easily. It is just hard to find someone that really needs something like that. Plus most people that understand that box or have the desire to have a box like that would rather build it on there own. When re-selling online list EVERYTHING about the box. You have a good start but I would list exact cutout diameters, port length, etc.
