Design help for adding another XCON 12"
Omega_Ace replied to Omega_Ace's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Since i already trimmed for height on the rear seat opening I could trim for width i could trim each side to accommodate 32.5"W. With that said I figured 32.5W x 12.5H x 29D with a port 5.5W x 11H x 21.75L would leave enough room to still mount the subs and tune it to 31 hz. And have 60.5 sq. In. of port area and have 3.9 cu. ft. net. Getting closer? -

Design help for adding another XCON 12"

I was able to get 4.1 net cu. ft. with a port of 4.5"W x 11"H x 30"L. Port on the side. I think that was at 31hz. I'm probably wrong but i wanted to put forth some effort but my knowledge is limited. -

LAY A WAY for Christmas/New Year

Hey Quentin, I just got approval to layaway (2) 12's and just had a question. Will the subs be built once payment is payed in full or is it once a specific quantity is met they well be made. I'll pm you once a get a pay pal account made. Thanks for your time, Adam. -
They do look good.. Makes think about a pair in the escape or put the Xcon in the escape and pair of ethos in the mustang. Either way time to start convincing the better half.

So I've been using both equipment for a week now. I'll start with the XCON. It is in a 2 cu. ft. Net and tuned to 32 hz. It sounds amazing from higher bass notes to the low notes. Ppl can't believe its one 12 even though they are staring at it. It has a very nice deep tone with very good accuracy. The lows are INCREDIBLE! This subs moves so much air. I haven't listened to any bass so far i didn't like with this speaker. I like a lot of rock and rap. Not to mention it looks great. Didn't seem to take long to loosen up. I love it, just wish I had one more. Now on to the amp. I previously had a mtx thunder elite 1501d running at 2 ohms. All i did was Change the sub, box, and amp. The crescendo has to be more efficient. I have it running at 1 ohm and it seems to draw about the same power at one ohm as the mtx was at 2 ohm. At 2 ohm the mtx has a birth sheet saying 1211 rms and the Crescendo is 2250 rms at 1 ohm. Very happy with that. The bc2000 seems well built. The setting knobs are smooth and the rca's fit snug. It does get almost hot after hours of playing full tilt but not to hot to touch. The pair of sub and amp sound great together. Hopefully this helps someone. Thanks for reading

I was parked next to another worker and while i was shaking his mirrors he commented on how tight the bass sounded. Definitely has output and sq. I already want another XCON and bc2000 to link.

Its 2 cubic feet after port and displacement. 31W by 12.5H by 19D. I trimmed the top section up by about an inch to inch and a half. I built it but Quentin Jarrell designed it. He designed an awesome box that kills the lows and sounds great on all bass i play. Thanks Quentin!

<p> This is just of the sub portion since I already had everything else installed and replaced sub stage. I went with Quentin's box design, 12" XCON D2, and BC2000. Only thing left is the 270a Mechman. I'll just run through what i have. Kenwood excelon, 4 kicker ks68 6x8's, 2 kicker tweeters, each Tweeter is in parrellel with a 6x8. running the is a MTX te404. Looking to upgrade speakers sometime in future. All 0 guage wire for big 3 and ran to the back baterry and sub amp then 4 guage from batt to te404 amp. Replaced my MTX Thunder 9500 12" and a MTX te1501d. Here's the pics.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20130920_133415_zps3ce8b654.jpg.html?sort=3&o=16</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20130921_153500_zps1956e06c.jpg.html?sort=3&o=15</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20130921_155953_zps5001fd0e.jpg.html?sort=3&o=14</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131016_222903_zps66dada10.jpg.html?sort=3&o=13</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131017_194024_zpsb20d17cd.jpg.html?sort=3&o=12</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131017_193902_zps2988ff9d.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131019_074751_zps3967ffee.jpg.html?sort=3&o=10</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131019_074831_zpsb1a11365.jpg.html?sort=3&o=9</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131020_171256_zps8a8c4438.jpg.html?sort=3&o=7</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131017_232651_zpse631cd0c.jpg.html?sort=3&o=11</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131025_181650_zps9cac7036.jpg.html?sort=3&o=6</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131025_181710_zps9664a4b2.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131025_182008_zpsc53b975a.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131025_234512_zps169fe6bf.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131025_234756_zps644d23d6.mp4.html?sort=3&o=1</p> <p>http://s1295.photobucket.com/user/Omega_Ace/media/20131025_191503_zpsb3d9f4f1.mp4.html?sort=3&o=0</p>

Routing ? for XCON flush mount
Omega_Ace replied to Omega_Ace's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Great. Thank you -
Can someone confirm the 12.5"outside diameter and is there anyone who knows how deep i need to route it for a flush mount of the basket? Thanks in advance.

Anybody willing to sell their bc2000?
-
i bet 2 sealed xcons would be pretty amazing. I have never personally heard any ssa subs and can't wait.
-
I am currently waiting on my 1st xcon and want to run 2 eventually but don't know if I can. I can slide a 31W x 12 3/4H x 29D through the rear seat opening. That is about the max size i can do through the seat opening i could go an extra half inch in the sides and maybe an inch on height but would be tight squeeze. Also i want ported if possible. Thanks for any help.
-
I would love 2 xcon 12's and have already trimmed the opening to get that height. Quentin I have built the box you designed for the single xcon but unfortunately can't post pics from my phone and that's all i have for internet. What would be the best route to take for the port design? I was hoping port in the middle with sub on each side.

I asked a cop here in Florida and he said there is no law against it but to just be courteous and don't drive by and vibrate store windows. He also said that if neighbors complain multiple times that they can give you a county violation.

I am looking to get a 15"or 18" to go into a sealed box for sq. Leaning towards the 15" at the moment. Car: 98 Mustang Location: Trunk Amp: MTX te1501d (birthsheet @ 1 ohm is 1556 rms @ 13.8 volts) Wires: 0 gauge on big 3, main battery to second battery in trunk, & from second battery to sub amp. 4 gauge to highs/mid amp from second battery. Stock 130a alt. but I'm getting a 270 Mechman and xs 3100d( will be under rear seat) when i order the sub or shortly after. If i go with the 15 the box will be 26.5L x 26.5D x 11H about 3.5 cubes before displacement. Sub will be upward firing. I'm tossing up the idea of the 18" but don't have experience with 18's. Any idea's if the 18 would be with the trouble? Thanks in advance Also the reason for upgrade is because my 12" mtx thunder 9500 @2 ohm just isn't enough anymore

Design questions for 15" or 18" SSA Xcon
Omega_Ace replied to Omega_Ace's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I got the box put together except got the top but my lap top broke and i can't upload any pics on here so i was wondering if there was anyone i could text the pics to and they could put them on here? I also have a question about the box. I was planning on rhino lining it and was wondering if i should just spray paint the inside of the port or if a thin layer of rhino lining inside the port would be ok without affecting the tuning that Quentin layed out. -
If you have two boxes at the same volume and say one had a 2" slot port width and the other had a 3.5" port width tuned to the same frequency would there be a difference? Would the 3.5" port allow you to feel the lows better than the 2" port but sound the same since they are tuned the same?
-
Just trying to learn as all I've ever has was sealed.
-
I'm just curious to if having a wider port but same tuning, power, sub, box volume, car is if there its a difference or if the wider port would play the low notes any stronger? More air movement?
