yes that is normal. you will have different power levels throughout the range due to the impedance curve.

OK gentlemen- Time to start a Build thread for my 2007 Avalanche. First off- this is in the planning / parts gathering stage- and it isn't gonna be an overnight kind of build. So be patient with me. Plans- 2 DSS Ethos 15's 10 cubes tuned to 22hz (looking for loud without being real peaky) in the bed Crescendo Power (BC3500 and C1100.4) Pioneer H/U (something in the avh-x line) Not sure on Front stage yet Plan to run a Singer Alt(320 amp most likely) Dual AGM stock size batteries Story up til now. I had my Burb since last spring-- and after doing the system for the Suzuki, I ended up buying the Crescendo 3500 from W140, and placed a pair of DSS Ethos on order during Q's christmas lay a way deal. Then during Black Friday I snagged a 1100.4 from Crescendo on sale. At this point this was all planned for the Burb. Well in December I was considering a new DD...and bought the Avalanche, specifically thinking it was perfectly suited for this setup. Even looked specically for the orange to match my beautiful amps.LOL So I have the amps, Just got the Ethos paid for- should be in about 2 weeks. After alot of back and forth with Quentin, he convinced me that this enclosure should fit my desires. Can't wait to get this thing pounding. The Starting Point- first things i done were replace the windsheild, the threw a dash cover(has the dreaded dash crack), and installed a magnaflow muffle and SLP tailpipe/tips. 86'ed the roof rack- before- After- The headlights and bowtie were next- before- After- The box plans- A trip to H/D with my lil helper- Then I put the box in the truck- LOL Ok...that was kind of mean.LOL Plan to work on it this weekend.

south alabama. worked offshore all my life. now I can't pass the physical to go back. oil and gas is all I really know. Been living off saving for almost a yr. Maybe I'll start selling cars or something. I don't really want to put all my stuff out there...but I've let myself go over the years...and now my health is paying for it. It is what it is- not looking for sympathy.

Yeah I am on several local-ish fb pages. Its too late now- I am expecting to wake up any day now to the sounds of a tow truck. Oh well. I am 42, and never been out of work like this.

I ran 2 runs of positive under the truck and up thru the drain holes in the rear of the bed on the drivers side- than grounded the bank on the pass side thru the drain to the frame.(3 runs). and yes I grounded the amp to the battery bank. On a side note- it is all being pulled out(half done already) as the truck is going back to the bank. I've been trying to sell it all summer with no luck. I have the Burb that everything can swap to...but I doubt if I do. I have had the subs for sale since I got them back in July. I'll be keeping the amps though...love my 5500.LOL One day I'll be back on top and able to play again.

I am really digging the US Acoustics amps. if I didn't already have my Crescendo amp- I'd be very tempted to run theirs. Like Aaron said- we love pictures.

it is an attenuation device. Max on the bass knob is going to be like not have the knob hooked up.(IE whatever your gains are set at) turning the bass knob down, lowers the volume. hope that makes sense.

is that 5 1/4's?

funny how the box looks smaller in the truck. I wasn't expecting 6" to the headrest.

And I was about to say it looked like those JBL's were putting in work.LOL hard to judge fronts on videos to me. I hasn't impressed with Cheezey's or Swifts fronts stages til I heard them in person. -
