I guess not, still kinda new. I guess I should do the higher freq. of 33hz or even 35hz like the Santa Fe video then. Sorry for the inconsistency, but everyones opinion and patience is appreciated.

O.K. I currently have 2 jl 12w6d4 in a slot ported box designed to jl specs and I am thinkin of getting 2 mach5 15's. The jl's are being ran off a 1000/1 and hit well but I kinda want more spl. I'm not totally into spl but listen to a lot of rap/r&b. I have a guy wanting to buy my current setup along with my 300/4 so I will be starting over with sundown amps as well. Vehicle is 07 escape with front/rear consisting of memphis m series comps in front and rear 5x7's. If I run the 15's in a ported box on a sndwn 1000D will I lose a lot of SQ? I listen to some rock/alternative music on occasion. BTW, my HU is a pioneer 7800 and I have a kinetic 800 as a second battery in the rear with 0/1 ran back from the front. I am trying to stay fairly inexpensive. Sorry if I'm babbling, but wanted to give as much info as possible so I could get help with my dilema. Any other ideas are welcomed!

My roomate has a 07 SS Monte, I'll try and get some measurments within the next few days if you would like. We work different hours and have different off-days, so it could be till this weekend.

yeah, I almost laughed when he offered the 2k!! So do the dim. I gave come close enough to the suggested box recommendations? I know driver displacement/double baffle/vent or port will cause the internal dim. to be close. What would suggestions be for tuning--port or vent ? I'm thinking 28-30hz for low end nastiness I've only had slot vented but I'm curious about flarred.

back again.....so I got a guy wanting to buy my current setup ($2,000.00) LOL, and now I'm thinking 2 15" icons with a sndwn 1500D in a ported enclosure tuned to spec suggestions. The question is will the icons be more of what I'm used to in SQ with that nice increase in spl? I measured out the back of my truck again (07 escape) and I could go 40w x 24D x 16 or 17 H....keeps it at rear windows. Never built an enclosure and don't have the tools, but will those dim. give me enough cubic feet to make them happy thanks for the help!!

Once again, I want more spl without giving up a ton of sq.The enclosure would be about 6-8 cubes and ported. I know a lot of ppl will say fi, but any other suggestions would be appreciated. Well, been outta car audio since about 1992. I was never huge into it due to $$$.I had some old soundstream stuff before I got married in 92'. The reference 10's and a 500. Loved it but had a kid within a year after I got married, then another and another and another--4 girls in 7yrs....lol Current setup is pioneer HU(7800), memphis m class 6.5" comps and 5x7's, 2-JL 12w6v2, JL amps (1000/1 & 300/4) all in a 07 ford escape. Work for the P.O. and spend my money now on my kids and my ride (22's & audio). Obviously a chi-town fan...bulls, bears, and sox. I take hella chit from the damn colts fans but oh well! Enough rambling

Yeah, v2's, got em both for $400. The shop I had put them in and build the box sells memphis and he's trying to talk me into m3's. I've been outta the loop since early 90's after marriage (divorced now)and I'm curious about new brands. JL was the chit back in the day, but been reading the forums here and see a lot of other stuff is out. So should I just look for another JL or 2?

I guess I should add what space I have to give up. The dim. are 40"w x 14"h x 24"d ......I don't know anything about boxes. The height could change but I'd like to keep the use of the cover. As far as the budget, I'd like it to be no more than $1500 for subs/box/and amps. Really would like to stay around $1000 but would go more for accuracy.
